Had the most pleasant stay at Awi! After a somewhat hectic and chaotic time Cairo, the slower paced and more nature-based scenery of Aswan, especially on Elephantine Island, was such a welcome change. The place is a bit hidden but has beautiful views across the Nile of Aswan, which is especially stunning at night. Yasin was a great host who picked me up by boat to take me to Awi House and also helped me with booking trips such as Philae Temple and a day trip to Abu Simbel, and Ahmed dropped me off by boat at the end of my stay. Overall I would definitely stay here again!

If you are looking for the experience of staying in a local guest house away from the touristy and noisy Aswan, and connecting with genuinely welcoming locals, we highly recommend Meshra Katto. Our host, Mohammed, and his staff were super welcoming and took great care of us during our 4 day stay. Mohammed had us picked up at the ferry dock by a motor boat shuttle. The short boat ride to the guest house around sunset was breathtakingly beautiful. Captain Zeizu and his team took care of our large suitcases, so these didn’t turn out to be an issue at all. The views form the rooftop were beautiful and the vibe very peaceful. Watching the sunset and having breakfast here was our favorite. A very special thanks to Zeinab and Fatima for the delicious food. Mohammed also arranged several excursions for us, starting from a day trip to Abu Simbel over a visit to the Nubian village to a sunset Felucca ride. Thank you for the hassle-free, perfect organization.

This hotel has been absolutely amazing! It’s literally just two minutes from the Abu Simbel Temple — the perfect location. The property is new, beautiful, and spotless, with a stunning infinity pool overlooking the desert and Lake Nasser. Watching the sunset from their terrace is truly magical. The food is delicious and freshly made, but what really makes this place special is the people. The staff are incredibly warm, kind, and attentive. A special thank you to Asma, who greeted me so warmly at reception, organized my airport transfer, planned my morning visit to the temple, and helped with every little request. She was always available, caring, and made sure I felt completely comfortable during my first time in Egypt.

Nature evey where especially that the guest house is built in a nature preserve so you would see a lot of creatures in there nature 3 . Staaaffff what a great group of people they were very friendly very helpful and very kind to top all of that 4 . Mr. Nasser which is a great person ,helpful ,kind and smile bringer 5. Owner of the guest house Mr . Waleed is very kind and very helpful man ( he helped me puying some top quality spices and brought me a boat cruise for a very good price ) 6. Lamiaa the receptionist with the great smile kind attitude and warm welcoming 7. Mohammed and Mahmoud of the buffet they are the best 8. Top quality of food the chef was 👌 9. Amazing room space and cleanliness and one of the most amazing room views I have ever had Over all it was an experience that would never be forgotten with evey detail of it and actually I stayed there for 7 nights but I didn't want to leave at the end of the reservation that's how I was attached to the place

Situated on Aswan’s highest hill, Hotel Basma offers unique views over the River Nile. It features a terraced garden and pool deck. The Nubian Museum is right across the property. My experience at Basma Hotel Aswan has been incredible, thanks to the receptionists Mariam and Maria. Their exceptional service and dedication have made my stay truly outstanding. They have assisted me with everything, ensuring that I did not have to worry about anything. Their professionalism and kindness have significantly enhanced my experience, and I am truly grateful for their support. I highly recommend this hotel, especially for the outstanding hospitality provided by the staff

The hotel offers excellent value for money. The room was spotless and well-organized, with comfortable beds. The owner was exceptionally friendly and hospitable, even offering to escort me to the temple for the Sun Festival when noticing I was traveling alone. I highly recommend this place to anyone planning to explore the Abu Simbel area!
