Our experience at Fra i Sassi was absolutely unforgettable. Our room was beautiful and full of character — the bathroom was set directly in the cave, which gave it such a unique and authentic touch. One of the highlights was definitely the view: right from our window we had a breathtaking panorama of Matera, perfect at any time of day. The location couldn’t have been better. We had no issues at all with our luggage, and the direct shuttle to the hotel made arrival super easy. Once there, we were within walking distance of everything — it’s perfectly situated to explore the Sassi and the historic center. What really made the difference was the staff. Every single person we interacted with was incredibly kind and helpful. They gave us excellent recommendations for food and activities, helped with reservations, and made us feel completely at home. A big plus for us: we were traveling with our dog and everything went smoothly. And breakfast? Just as amazing as everything else — fresh, local, and delicious. Highly recommend staying here if you want the full Matera experience with comfort, charm, and warm hospitality

Spazio Gagarin Residence nabízí pokoje v destinaci Matera. Jen 1,3 km odtud se nachází Casa Grotta nei Sassi a Tramontano Castle je 800 metrů daleko. Newly built only two years ago, beautifully furnished, it looks like a new, modern hotel, just smaller. Our double room was spacious, with a large bathroom and pretty patio (we were on the ground floor). Staff, Pietro and Illaria were very helpful. Parking on the premises was very convenient at 15euro per day (although the parking space was not guaranteed as there are more rooms than parking spaces). Excellent location, no more than 500 meters to the old city walls, a market, cafes and restaurants.

Our room was very clean and well-equipped, with a nice balcony overlooking the farm. Probably the best part of our stay was the breakfast, with everything fresh and eggs from the farm. The host is amazing. We stayed here and visited Matera for the whole day. We could only stay one night, but we wish we could have stayed longer.

Emilio is an exceptional great host. My boyfriend and I had a one-night stay in Palazzo Badiale on our way to Puglia and could have easily stayed longer. The nature surrounding the property is just beautiful and we enjoyed exploring it even more on our morning run. The breakfast in the morning in Emilios’s bakery is 10/10 and gave us the perfect taste of Italien delicates. I highly recommend staying here, also for longe periods when you want to unplug and relax.

The customer service was excellent. Such a lovely welcome and responded promptly to every enquiry. The room was clean, well thought through and the dehumidifier was an excellent touch. Property was extremely clean and beautifully restored. Staff went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and helped with suggestions for dinner and hiking options in the park.

The place is beautiful, the staff is amazing, the food was fantastic. You arrive and they serve you some wine to enjoy the beautiful view of the fields... They gave choice over the room, they were very helpful when we couldn't close the window. The staff was super friendly and make sure that we felt at home. The dinner was really nice, the breakfast was the best of our entire trip, and the location beautiful. We had no time to enjoy the pool, but it looked fantastic as well.
