Nestled in the tranquil Hida Mountains, Miyama Ouan Kyoritsu Resort offers traditional accommodation featuring hot spring baths and nature views. A really beautiful hotel with many details thought of. So many complimentary things offered which really enhance your stay from the robes and slippers you change into when you arrive, ice lollies after the onsen, noodles in the evening, marshmallows for roasting on the terrace, it feels like the staff really want to go the extra mile to surprise and delight you. The rooms were beautiful and comfortable and the onsens themselves an amazing experience that we all loved, even our children age 10,12 and 14 enjoyed them. The food was very traditional and incredibly special with exceptional presentation. The dinner is expensive but a real treat for the senses. I highly recommend the breakfasts as well. We took the bus to Kamikochi for easy hiking/walking which was perfect. All in all the most perfect start to our Japanese adventure. I’m so glad we had some time in the mountains before Kyoto and Tokyo. Most staff speak some English but google translate is helpful if you need to say more than the basics!

The owner and his mother were so kind, they gave us many advice and news about the current event and matsuri. The house is a lovely japanese one with a nice view on the river. It was very big and comfortable for our family. All necessary equipment (bath, laundry, towels, kitchen..);and also nice gifts 😁. It also work like a small conbini as you can buy noodle, drinks whatever you need in the house.

We came wet from the rain and he helped me dry my shoes with special dryer, he gave us to use bikes (with electric assistant) for free, there is a parking space close to the guesthouse but the owner also provide shuttle to center Takayama - so also it is far from the center (about 30 min walk), with the bikes and the shuttle it didn't feel this way. The kitchen was equipped, and the owner gave us bottles of water and didn't let us pay! He is a very sweet guy and we had a really good experience in this guesthouse that was also very very clean and affordable!!

She went out of her way to make our stay just perfect. We loved the tatami room and the traditional japanese breakfast she made for us each morning and are so grateful that she gave us a ride to and from the train station as well. She was very kind and we felt cared for in her beautiful guest house. ありがとうございました！

2024 Renovation house hanasaki nabízí ubytování v centru města Takajama. Hida Minzoku Mura skanzen se nachází 3,3 km odtud a Gero Station 49 km. The owner was super responsive. I have absolutely zero complaints about the accommodation. Spacious, clean, well equipped and comfortable. The location was perfect for walks into the old town, Miyagawa morning market, Takayama Jinya etc. The owner also operates a coin laundry just next door. With state of the art washing machines, it was super convenient.

The owner has obviously tried to make the accommodation comfortable and functional for guests. Lots of extra finishing touches. There are cooking oils, sauces and seasonings to cook with, as well as tea and coffee. The shampoo and conditioner isn’t a super cheap brand which is great. I loved being able to stay near the train station and watching all the people come home at night from the upstairs bedroom window, it gets so busy, it was a comforting feeling.

The facilities are good—nothing fancy, just comfortable. Plus, it’s close to a supermarket and local shops. While it’s not right in the thick of the most crowded tourist areas, it’s still close enough to get around by walking or hopping on a bus easily. Best of all, this location gives you plenty more chances to dive into real local life.
