Solana Apartments is in the heart of authentic Kenya in Watamu and is just exceptional. We will definitely be going back next year if we can make a reservation as it is already booking up fast. Kathryn and the staff team made sure from the minute we arrived to the minute we left that we had everything we needed and organized us with a regular Tuk Tuk driver and taxi driver to get to the airport. Kathryn and our Tuk Tuk driver, Omar also made great recommendations for things to do and places to visit whilst in Watamu. Our apartment was just perfect, we visit Africa regularly (first time to Kenya) and this is the best accomodation we have stayed in. Authentically Kenyan in decor and furnishings. The bathroom was rustic and traditional African and immaculate. It was 32° on average during our stay so the air conditioning in both bedrooms and the fans in all the rooms were much needed and kept the apartment perfectly cool. The kitchen had everything needed and it was great to be able to do a combination of self catering and eating.out. The staff are the best thing about Solana Apartments. Everyone was so welcoming even taking the time to teach us some Swahili and were so appreciative when we tried to learn. Breakfast was included in the price and was lovely. After the first day, as part of our. Breakfast experience the staff cooked traditional Swahili breakfast items for us to try which were all delicious and then we chose this every day. The breakfast was ample and really set you up for the day. Our apartment was cleaned daily, again to an exceptional standard. Although an apartment there were staff there all day and a security guard at night. We felt safe at all times and the staff all went out of their way to help in any way they could.

Located on Watamu beach, the luxury Medina Palms features unique architecture and a tropical garden, outdoor swimming pool with sun loungers and views of the Indian Ocean. The staff: Peter, Gideon, Juma and Patrick at reception were courteous, fulfilled all our wishes and communicated very well with the relevant departments. We immediately felt at home. As I am vegan, it is a bit difficult for me here in Kenya to always choose something from the menu. The waiter Dena was very courteous, understanding, helpful and very knowledgeable. He went through the menu with me every day and always gave me very good advice so that the chef could cook it. Employees like him should be encouraged and appreciated more. Waiter Robert always gave us something to laugh about at the bar and the drinks were very good. No headaches the next day, he was a pleasure to work with. Many thanks to Sofia from the breakfast service, she always had a smile on her face and sweetened our day so we could start the day well. Margaret's pancakes are a must at Medina Palms, they are delicious. Mercy, our housekeeping queen. She wowed us every day with new room decorations Always very lovingly done now I can say I have always slept on cloud nine at Medina Palms. Thank you, Queen Mercy. An appeal to the management of Medina Palms staff to show more encouragement and appreciation the facilities and location are not worth 5 stars for me. The heart of Medina Palms is the staff. Offering a spa and wellness centre, 2 pools surrounded by palm trees, Hemingways Watamu is located on the beachfront of Watamu. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning and free WiFi. Everything was amazing! It is a beautiful hotel with very kind and helpful staff.

Distant Relatives Ecolodge and Backpackers se nachází v Kilifi Creek, jen 3 km od města a je obklopen komunitním lesem. Nabízí odlehlou pláž, restauraci a venkovní bazén. The staff, food, pool, and location are top notch. Anything you need the staff will help you. The kitchen is very continent for cooking your own meals, with a grocery store not too far away from the hostel. It’s also only 5 minutes walk away from an amazing beach. Also, the dorm beds are out of this world… biggest and comfiest hostel beds I have ever slept on
