We spent 2 nights at Royal Rock and had the best time! The staff took such good care of us from the moment we arrived, Suji, Jay and Sana especially, but everyone was so kind and helpful. They have a small van to easily drive you into town or to activities and to pick you up whenever you’re finished. Sana recommended several local activities and took us to beautiful photo spots. The hotel room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the view of Lion Rock our bed was magical. There is a restaurant on site and the pool was refreshing after hiking up Lion Rock on a hot day. Seriously one of the best places we’ve ever stayed! 10/10

Heritance Kandalama, Klidné útočiště na kopcích, nabízí panoramatický výhled na skály Sigiriya. Naprosto bezchybné. Cena mírně vyšší, avšak adekvátní k exkluzivitě hotelu. Personál velmi vstřícný, všimavý. Pokoje čisté. Nezapomenutelná architektura.

Absolutely adore this hostel and the hosts. They were the sweetest couple, who were always around to help you, give tips and also make you delicious food. I did a cooking class with them for 3000, which was incredible and so much cheaper than any other places and gave you a more authentic experience. I 100% recommend doing this is you are staying. They have a small restaurant where you can chill at and also a hammock. There was only one room, a four female dorm. It did get a little hot at times as there was only one fan for the room to share. It was clean and had a large bathroom. The location is perfect, just off the main street with some restaurants and mini stores around, but also a short walk to even more restaurants and it is fine walking to lion rock and pidurangala rock. If I came back I would definitely come back to stay and will recommend to all my friends that I know will be coming this way. Thank you for 💚

The Sri Lankan couple that operates the hotel are some of the most kind, generous, and helpful people I’ve met. The homemade meals are generously portioned and served with love. They helped me arrange tours to the nearby Minneriya National Park and also helped with scooter rental. When I had an accident with the scooter, they were attentive and understanding. But best of all, the value you get for your money is incredible. The hotel rooms are spacious, the pool is nice, and the location is just 20 minutes drive from all the tourist activities in the area.

Výhled na Sigiria Rock, čisté, majitel nám doporučil safari se slony a bylo opravdu vydařené, viděli jsme snad 100+ slonů ve skupinkách po 10-15, proto jsme zůstali o 1 noc déle. Také nám nabídl večeři a připravil i oběd mezi ranním výstupem na Sigirir na východ slunce a safari těsně po poledni. Chutná kuchyně.

The huts have beautiful views and everything needed for a stay. The breakfast included was great with lots of fruit and mix of sri lankan and western breakfast. Amila went above and beyond to help us get tuk tuks and even providing us a transfer himself. Fantastic stay and incredible hospitality.
