Due to last second cancellation from another hotel (thanks buzen for not allowing us to check in after 10pm...) we found there was a room left here. We checked in at 12 night with ease. The man and women at the reception were great and spoke decent English. The size of the room and sink outside was above average for Japan which was nice. Overall great stop off in the area of 1 night.

Our goal was to explore the northern part of Kyushu and Shimonoseki. It was really fun to see the clear difference from Kanto or Kansai area and as we arrived after the mid autumn festival time, most cities were extremely comfortable getting around.

Very recommended. We love Aso area a lot, mountains there are green like Macha and food/fruit are really delicious, for example: tomatoes or milk, pudding....etc.

This is a small town but perfect for conference or a few day escape from routine trip. Some attractions like shrines, few hiking trails and a railway museum are around. Finally Fukuoka is just 15 away by Shinkansen. And this town has its small but charming airport!
