I booked this for my Husband, he needed a few hours sleep during a trip to see football in Kazakhstan, he was really pleased with this accommodation, simply a pod but fully equipped, actually inside the airport and very easy to access. There were staff on hand to assist with anything that he needed, a shop and a cafe right near him so all in all very pleased with the price. Slightly quirky and I guess not for everyone but for my husband this was an ideal layover.

The hosts (the lady and her son) were super friendly and was quick to answer all questions. The place was within walking distance from Almaty Airport. Shops are nearby and the bus stop was only a 10-minute walk away. The place was super comfy with a kitchen and a bedroom. Internet connection was super fast.

Location and Transport
Almaty International Airport is situated 11 miles (18 kilometres) from central Almaty. A taxi from the airport will cost around KZT 3,000 but you’ll need to negotiate a price beforehand as there are no meters. A cheaper option is to take a bus with lines 79, 86, 92 and 106 operating during the day, and Line 3 operating during the night. Journeys take around 40 minutes and tickets can be purchased from the driver.

Install there taxi app in your phone and translator. This will help you bigtime.
City tour is better to do it yourself. The canyons, mountains and lakes are better off in tour packages. Less hustle and more convenient.
