After a scenic drive of about one and a half hours, we arrived at Bardia Eco Friendly Homestay, and our first impression was beyond expectations. The property is peaceful and beautifully maintained, with spacious, spotless rooms and a stunning garden that looks magical under the evening lights. We were warmly welcomed with flowers by Shardul’s wonderful parents, Basu and Sarita. Basu, a teacher, shared interesting stories about Bardia National Park, while Sarita — an exceptional cook — served us some of the best home-cooked food we had in Nepal. Every meal was fresh, flavorful, and made with so much love. Their kindness and hospitality made us feel truly at home. Shardul also organized a walking safari for us, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our entire trip. With his deep knowledge of the jungle and its wildlife, he guided us safely and confidently through the forest. We were incredibly lucky to spot three tigers and eight rhinos — a once-in-a-lifetime experience! We also spent one night in their treehouse, surrounded by nature — peaceful, adventurous, and unforgettable. Our stay at Bardia Eco Friendly Homestay was simply exceptional — filled with warmth, comfort, and genuine care. This is not just a place to stay; it’s a home where guests are treated like family. You can arrange a lot of activities to the national park such as walking and jeep safari and bird watching. The owner Sonya is super helpful and kind. I really enjoyed the 6 nights I stayed here.
