Set in Isando, 20 km from Johannesburg, City Lodge Hotel at OR Tambo International Airport boasts an outdoor pool and fitness centre. Every room has a flat-screen TV with satellite channels. The hotel is practically within the airport area in walking distance from the terminal building. Friendly staff, nice breakfast. The room was clean and well equipped.

Southern Sun offers luxury rooms with a contemporary design. It features an outdoor pool, bar area and a buffet restaurant called Bernoulli’s. Shuttle to OR Tambo. I could access Gautrain and any place from there.

Protea Hotel by Marriott O R Tambo Airport is situated in Kempton Park, 3.5 km from the O.R Tambo International Airport and and 1 km from the Rhodesfield Gautrain Station. I liked the shuttle experience. When others tried to ask for money the driver shut that down because that person wasn’t helping. This made me feel more comfortable

Dove’s Nest is located less than 2 km from OR Tambo Airport and offers a free airport shuttle. It offers a breakfast room overlooking the garden and spacious guest rooms. We stayed in the family room. They were clean, nicely stocked with kettle, tea, coffee, microwave, a stationary heater, hot water, wifi. The location was perfectly near the airport and they even had a complimentary airport pick up and drop 24*7 which was so convenient, especially with the safety situation in Johannesburg. They gave us good packed breakfast which was bread and butter and orange juice. They had a nice walking place outside, a swing, a little tree house. We felt safe staying there. Would totally recommend this place.

This hotel offers modern rooms with flat-screen TV and an outdoor pool in a cosy courtyard. The location and the breakfast are the best part on this accommodation. The room was a bit noisy in the morning (we stayed in the first floor) because the windows are old and don't seal properly… but ok… we woke up early so that wasn’t a real problem. The staff are friendly especially the guy who helped carry the bags. I recommend this place!

I only stayed in the hotel because I had a long layover in Johannesburgh. The hotel is clean, near the airport and offers free shuttle service (though not as frequently as the description states)
