One of the nicest accommodations that we have ever stayed, felt like home from the first moment. Beautiful design, lovely materials (all traditional), stunning views. The apartments are designed in such way to ensure privacy. There is a kitchenette and facilities to prepare a light meal and warm drinks, the apartments are very spacious with good storage space. Cleaning and changing of the bedsheets every other day. The complex also has a beautiful pool if you wish to use instead of visiting one of the beaches. The hotel manager provided us with many helpful recommendations so we made the most out of our stay on Ikaria. If you’re planning on staying on the south of Ikaria, don’t look any further, Pyrgos is the nicest place you can trat yourself for your stay.

The property was very clean and comfortable, and had everything that we needed during our stay. The view was amazing and the location very good as only a short walk to the harbour, shops and restaurants. The host was very quick with responses to my questions.

I can explain our experiences about this facility as follows, we have been traveling for years and staying in different facilities, and this is the first time we have stayed in a facility as new, clean, equipped with quality equipment, extra comfortable beds, stunning location and view, very close to markets, beaches and nice taverns, a wonderful and very large balcony with a wonderful view. Actually, I can summarize it as follows, if I were to buy a summer house for myself, I could only have such a perfect house. As for the hosts, they are the most friendly, sweet, warm-hearted, helpful, angel-hearted people we have ever met and they have become our relatives, we will definitely come back to see them and their sweet son Dionysos again.

We are currently staying in Karavostamo but fancied a change of scenery. I had holidayed in Greece for 21 of the 26 years together, but recently my partner died and I have found it difficult to settle this year. The Mesaktis Rooms were exactly what I needed. A beautiful tranquil setting, our terrace looked down on to a small lagoon. The owners gave me and my friend homemade lemonade and the most delicious homegrown figs, which we consumed whilst overlooking the lagoon, which was home to over 30 turtles! We were given bread with which to feed them. What a sight to feast your eyes on while we drank our delicious lemonade! The accommodation is rustic, it’s not luxurious, but it’s what we both loved about this place. There are tavernas beds are comfortable and the kitchen has everything you need to make a simple meal. There are tavernas maybe 5 minutes walk away, a mini market next door, and over the road there is probably the best beach on Ikaria - Mesaktis beach. At the far end is a lagoon in which you can see even more turtles! The hosts, as you may have picked up on, were so generous and warm. I miss the place, the kittens and Sadi the dog already. This has been the standout experience so far of this 3 week Greek island hopping trip. I absolutely loved it, and it helped me along in my grief journey. To the owners: thank you for your hospitality, for letting me leave the car on your premises after we had checked out, and sorry for taking the room key!
