We were made to feel very welcome, the accommodation is really comfortable and the room beautifully furnished. The food was excellent and overall it was a fantastic short break.

Beautiful pub, Great location. Christmas decorations and open fireplace added to the ambience. The food was excellent. We had a selection of starters, lamb curry, and chicken curry. It was one of the best Indian meals I have eaten, and I have been to some excellent Indian restaurants. Compliments to the chef.

Compton House is such a quaint, comfortable, and friendly B&B. The rooms had everything we needed, including a tea/coffee-making area, and en-suite bathrooms. The location was ideal as it was within a stone's throw from the centre of town, and so everything we needed was easily accessible on foot. We had more contact with Jane, who met our every need in the most accommodating way. She readily gave us advice on what to see, where to go in our spare time, and how to travel to Derby. Her husband David cooked the most delicious full English breakfast. We were a group of 5 adults and 1 child, but we felt welcomed. Thank you to Jane and David for making our wedding weekend stay so comfortable and enjoyable. We recommend Compton House highly, and would return readily!

The accommodation what exactly as the photos showed. The bed was very comfortable and the environment very cozy. You could see it had been thoroughly cleaned from the previous guest. Location is perfect to explore Ashbourne.

Everything was spotlessly clean - sparkling white bed linen and towels - fresh towels each day. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and cookies in the room. Heated towel rail (a lifesaver after getting caught in the rain!). Kitchenette on the landing with cereals, toast, fruit, waffles, etc plus a fridge for guests' use. It is on the main road, so a little road noise, but considering there is a music venue downstairs very little noise from the bar/venue.
