Charming.. most definitely. Kim and Tony were great hosts, welcoming us into their home. Comfy bed . Sole use of the sitting and dining room, where Kim had lit the wood burner for us. We ordered a takeaway Chinese and had our supper there. Breakfast was very hearty with plenty of cereals, lovely traditional cooked breakfast, tea and toast. After which I fed the chickens which was a real treat! Thank you Kim and Tony.

I arrived in Bodmin very late but the host waited me to check in till mid-night which was soooo nice! The room was super clean and lovely,and the cat Pumpkin was friendly and cute.

Costilost House is a rare find. I had the pleasure of staying there in August '25. The hosts are a delight and nothing is too much trouble. The house is off the "beaten track" and if the beach is not important for you then its location is perfect for Polzeath, Padstow and exploring the Cornish coast, notwithstanding Cornish roads! The house itself has elegant charm, and has beautiful touches in keeping with the period of the house. The rooms (my room) was spacious and comfortable, the bed especially so. The breakfast was excellent: full English or continental style. The house despite its age had strong WiFi and hot showers, my room had a bath! If you are looking for a peaceful retreat, a base from which you can explore Cornwall, then Costislost House might be your solution, far from the madding crowd!
