I love how the space feels like coming back home, the owner is really kind, funny and I enjoy talking with him and other travelers. We sat all together and had some fun.time. The room I stayed in was a dormitory, the futon mattress was comfortable. I enjoyed the location as well. Even though it's a 30 min walk to the station, it's a really historical area and you will enjoy walking around. I highly recommend it!.

This was my favorite stay during my trip! Surrounded by the countryside, this 280 years old house has all the charms of its age, but still reasonably modern amenities. The staff is especially friendly, helpful, and welcoming. And you can get amazing home-cooked meals too! If you want to go out of the beaten path and explore the rural side of Japan, this is absolutely the best place!

The absolute highlight of our stay was Guest House Chara, run by the kindest elderly couple, Fusao and Toshiko. Their warmth and hospitality made us feel completely at home—it wasn’t just a place to sleep, it truly felt like staying with family. Their house told a story, filled with warmth, history, and the little personal touches that made it feel lived-in and loved. From the amazing homemade breakfast to the delicious ramen dinners they prepared, every meal was made with care and love. The guest house is conveniently located, just a short walk from a supermarket and a laundromat, which made things really easy for us. This personal, welcoming experience truly made our trip special. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a meaningful, off-the-beaten-path experience in Japan. ありがとうございます

Uchi Matsushima Guesthouse se nachází v destinaci Macušima. Shiogama Shrine je 9,4 km daleko a Sendai City Community Support Center 23 km. The room is dark enough at night. I had the most deep sleep during the trip. It’s cozy place. The owner is always welcoming you at the door, feeling safe with his presence. He is a warm and nice guy. He helped me to take the heavy luggage upstairs. It’s close to the sightseeing temples in a walkable distance.There is a restaurant open until 8pm nearby. Convenient place.
