The family taking care of the Nifa House are extremely excellent people. We had health problem and they took care of us like a part of the family. It is so good to find people like them when you are travelling.

A clean, well-equipped apartment with all the facilities needed for a short stay in Espargos. It's located in a residential area in front of the school, so it's quiet at night. Since we walked from the airport, it was a perfect location for us (on the street into town). Blackout curtains help keep out the morning light. There's a kitchenette with enough utensils to cook a simple meal. An air conditioner worked well and came in handy during a sandstorm.

Extremely clean, super big rooms, very comfortable, great location. Has everything you need! The owners are a gem!!! Dila organized for us a tour of the island and she let us do a late check out, which was super convenient because we were flying from Sal at 7 pm, so we could enjoy the beach and then take a shower. I strongly recommend staying here, especially if you’re not a fan of resorts like me but still want to be in a great accommodation. I only have good things to say about this place. You’ll love it! I loved this apartment and with I could have stayed longer! The hosts are so friendly and helpful, arranging everything for me and even taking the time to walk me to the colectivo station so I could get a cheaper ride back to the airport than possible with a taxi. The apartment itself has everything you need and there is a great grocery store around the corner, plus countless good restaurants and coffee shops in east walking distance. You get all the benefit of Santa Maria’s amenities without feeling cloistered in a resort.

LAFAYETTE Alojamentos se může pochlubit výhledem na moře a nabízí ubytování s terasou a balkonem. Pedra Lume Salt Crater se nachází přibližně 5,4 km odtud. This is the perfect place to stay if you want to get to know the real Sal and its people. The owners went above and beyond to make me feel not only welcome, but truly at home. The room was super comfy, and the food was always delicious (be sure to try one of Candida's secret recipes for dinner, if you get the chance). I was provided with all the help and advice I needed in order to explore the island, and Candida and Martin personally took me to places that only local people know about. If, like me, you prefer a quiet, remote beach over those crowed, touristy ones: there's a small one just a short bicycle ride away – although I usually opted for a walk through to beautiful steppe landscape to get there. If you prefer spending your days with the other tourists down in the south of the island: Santa Maria beach is only 20 minutes by bus – which may sound complicated at first, but is actually super fun and convenient (and it only costs 1 Euro). I could go on praising this place for two weeks (which is actually the amount of time I stayed), but I'll just stop here – not without saying: Thank you, Candida & Martin, for the wonderful time at kleine schweiz! It's in a safe and secure part between the beach and the center of Santa Maria. A grocery store is close. The people in the neighborhood are great and super friendly. There are so many great restaurants around that are affordable. There are 2 restaurants within a block of this location. My favorite part was watching people pass by on the street from my balcony. Paola and Mano are there to help you out. They are the friendly faces that are there twice a day to get you set up if you need to.....but you don't have to do anything if you don't want to. Wifi is great. Everything was SO easy. From the airport to Sakaroule. I spent 3 weeks here. I don't know where the time went, but it was a great place to call home and I am so grateful to Paola for her wonderful hospitality. Don't go to the big overpriced hotels. This is a very special place and if I ever come back, I would stay here again. Minutes from the beach. Minutes from great restaurants. Minutes from the central walk. Minutes from culture. Minutes from a shopping center. No taxi is needed. Most excursions will also pick you up from Sakaroule which Mano will set up for you if you need assistance with language or activity ideas.

Great villa perfectly located in Santa Maria with access to the beach, shops, restaurants and bars. The villa is very comfortable and well appointed with all the facilities you need for self catering. We particularly appreciated the inclusion of a washing machine as the local laundry costs can be quite expensive. The host was very flexible and went above and beyond helping with any help we needed. All in all, thoroughly recommended.
