The breakfast (made by Michaël) was delicious — and even served with a smile if you oversleep by more than an hour 😄 But the real highlight was the hosts, Dila and Michaël. They are truly the best hosts you could wish for — incredibly kind, helpful, and genuine. They helped us with everything: transportation, tickets, and local tips. Dila took us to the city and market several times and always managed to get us amazing deals. We feel so lucky to have met them — not just as hosts, but now as friends. ❤️ We can’t recommend Mila Homestay enough!✨️🔝

Located in Timbanglawang, Orangutan Villa & Ethical Jungle Treks features accommodation with seating area. This villa offers free private parking and full-day security. The villa provides a restaurant serving American cuisine, as well as free WiFi throughout the property. We had a fantastic time with Sumatra Orangutan Trek. Everything was well organized from start to finish. The jungle trek was unforgettable. We saw several orangutans, gibbons, and other monkeys. The guides were knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the environment, always respectful of the wildlife. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and helpful, making us feel at home right away. The accommodation was clean and comfortable. A perfect way to experience the jungle in a responsible and memorable way.

This beachfront property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. The accommodation offers airport transfers, while a bicycle rental service is also available. I really enjoyed my stay here. It is a comfy and very convenient guesthouse. The staff is really kind and helpfull. They also organize great trekking tours to the jungle. And the location of the guest house is great. Right next to the river. From the terasse you can look down on the river and enjoy the village life.

The owner and staff are super kind and welcoming. The apartment was so functional--I can see why it can also be rented long-term. Favorite thing was probably the hammock and view of the lake, as well as the convenience of the vegetarian restaurant!

Gotong Rotong bus station and convenience store are located about 10 to 15 mins away by foot. The quiet villa with nice ambience is tucked away from town. Padi fields just a few minutes walk from the villa. Tyson, Dedek and team are super friendly. Their dog Balu is a charm. They are able to organize trips to the jungle, Tangkahan, transport and etc. It's like a one-stop villa for everything. The room is of good size and bed is very comfortable. Restaurant in the villa serves good food. (One can always replenish drinking water in the restaurant.) There is no need to walk out for meals. In any case, not much choices available near the villa unless one goes to Bukit Lawang. Bukit Lawang town is 20 minutes walk from the villa walking pass local residences. If not, one can take a motorbike to the town. The jungle trek organized by Tyson comes with a friendly and knowledagble guide and assistant. Saw 2 orangutans during the trek and also a few monkeys. Trek is tough and it's goes uphill and downhill. One ought to be fairly fit. Highly recommend Sumatra Orangutan Discovery Villa.

Yuyun and Borja are the perfect hosts nothing is too much trouble, they booked us on a fantastic tour and everything they recommend was amazing. Yuyun is a great cook and the restaurant has a fantastic view as do the rooms.
