A 2-minute walk from Sendagi Subway Station, Japanese-style hotel Annex Katsutaro Ryokan features rooms with traditional tatami (woven-straw) flooring and free Wi-Fi internet. This is my third visit to this Ryokan in 10 years and I'm sure I will be back. Love the rooms, the location, the staff.

Situated in the Asakusa area, Ryokan Asakusa Shigetsu has a history of 70 years. The accommodation boasts a view of the Tokyo Skytree from its Hinoki wood bath. This was my second time staying at the ryokan, I love it. Just like the first time, the staff was very attentive, polite, and helpful. The ryokan is very well located, close to Asakusa Temple, shopping streets, and the subway. Despite the busy streets, the ryokan is very quiet. The bathroom is quite modern, and the room maintains the traditional style while also being spacious.

I enjoyed that the location was less than a 6 minute walk from the Kikukawa Station. This location was also near two Family Mart Convenience Stores which made it easy to get water or food even at strange hours of the night. It was also near a McDonalds and Jonathans if you're someone like me who enjoys breakfast. I also enjoyed how spacious the apartment was in comparison to some of the hotels I looked at that seemed quite narrow. I had a lot of luggage so this was a primary factor in me choosing this space. Facilities wise, we were also able to do laundry which I enjoyed. The stay offers laundry detergent and you use the heating system in the bathroom to be able to dry your clothes which was a pleasant feature given most Asia countries air dry their clothes outside. I enjoyed that amenities like tooth paste, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were provided in the bathroom. There's also a hair dryer and vacuum. The vacuum was needed to clean the floor since unlike a hotel that cleans the rooms daily, you would need to clean this apartment yourself. If you aren't interested in a loud city area, this is the perfect place to stay as it's close enough to areas like Asakusa, Akihabra, Shinjuku, and Shibuya. I enjoyed how quite the neighborhood was and how I was able to be walk around both in the daytime and nighttime peacefully!
