The hostel is very well organised, the staff is very knowledgeable about the Colca Canyon. We were backpack hiking for two days and we got great recommendations from the Pachamama staff about which hike to do and where to sleep. Originally we planned to sleep in a tent, but we were very glad that we have followed their recommendations and left the tent at the hostel and slept at Llahuar Lodge instead. The hostel goes quiet in the night around 9-10 pm and starts to get busy around 6 am, which for us worked perfectly. The room was warm and the shower was hot. We were happy about the transport that they offer from Cabanaconde to Cusco. There is also a little store at the hostel were you can find different paintings, pottery and so on made by local artists. It is a great place to find some special souvenirs.

It’s a perfect place to relax, with beautiful nature all around, thermal baths nearby, and plenty of small hikes to enjoy. Our young daughter especially loved helping feed the baby alpacas and joining in the activities with the family. The homemade meals were delicious, and the room was clean and comfortable. If you are looking for an authentic, peaceful stay full of cultural experiences and local warmth, this is the perfect choice in the Colca region.

The hostal is a little bit away from Plaza de Armas, but Chivay is so small that it's only a short walk away. The bed and room were comfortable and clean. The shower was nice and hot. You have access to a kitchen if you'd like to cook any meals. Great value overall. Also, Mónica and her husband are wonderful, kind people. They were very responsive to my needs. They even let me store some of my stuff at the hostal while I was away for a few days hiking Colca Canyon. I highly recommend staying here!
