Villa Kounzo also helps you make the most of your time—they recommend great daytime activities and are happy to order excellent takeaway meals from nearby restaurants if you're staying in for the evening. The on-site bar is another highlight, offering cold, reasonably priced drinks including soft drinks, beer, and wine—a perfect way to wind down after a day of exploring. Villa Kounzo is far more than just a place to stay—it’s a haven of comfort, great food, and genuine hospitality where you feel like home. I left feeling completely recharged and already planning my return. Highly recommended!

Fantastic stay- Mar was so responsive with information before, Oumar was a wonderful host - the excursions were great, it’s a beautiful part of the world. Celine and Gilles are fantastic hosts, staying with them feels like being invited into their home rather than just renting a room. Their hospitality, friendliness and warmth creates a wonderful atmosphere where every guest feels welcome. Having one table where guests and hosts gather for breakfast and dinner is a great way of getting to know each other and to share stories, experiences or tips for activities in or around Toubacouta. And there is a lot! Celine and Gilles have been an invaluable help with arranging the various trips for us, both canoeing in the mangroves, a boat trip to a bird island, an excursion to the Fathala wildlife reserve and much more. All food is prepared at the guesthouse by Celine and her staff and it is nothing short of outstanding. The jam is homemade, the yoghurt is homemade, the honey is local from the mangrove... and the three-course dinners are pure luxury. Every day! I even got a birthday cake and "Happy Birthday" sung in four different languages on my birthday. This is exactly the kind of guesthouse we are looking for on our travels and we are incredibly happy and thankful to have found Keur Niaye.

Absolutely immersive in wild life, way away from the common, prices surprisingly reasonable considering the distance from Dakar. I doubted very much if it was worth traveling that far, arriving from Saly and Dakar, but after being there, my joy compensated it all

Lovely new place in the middle of nowhere but in plain nature. You open the back door into the mangrove woods and water, cross the street and touch the wild Atlantic. Fantastic tours can be booked directly and simple at the Lodge. As there are no real facilities around like bigger shops or restaurants we got served perfect breakfast and meals by the nice lady running the house. No car, take a piroge or a caleche or a driver. The pool is marvellous, the AC is working, wifi leaking but everything else is worth going there.
