The Avalon is my first choice of hotel when visiting my family in Kilkenny. The rooms are really comfortable and tastefully decorated, the inclusion of a coffee machine is very welcome. The hotel has a very homely atmosphere and the staff are wonderful, so kind and friendly. I would really recommend breakfast, a good selection of local produce really well cooked and served. Great location right in the city center of Carlow. The communication with the host was prompt and adaptable. Leanne was helpful and very kind. Fresh food was provided daily including fresh fruit and yogurt in the fridge. The apartment is recently renovated, clean, and with all the facilities. The room was spotless with a comfortable bed. We will stay here again.

We liked the accomodation a lot. We were welcomed by Jamie who was very helpful and friendly and gave us recommendation for eating/pubs in Durrow (we liked very much the Bob's bar in Durrow). The accomodation is in a very quite and very green location. I was easy to find and with a car it was very close to a village of Durrow. Our room had a lot of space, everything was very clean and the beds comfortable. There was also fridge available in the breakfast room to store our food. The breakfast was very good, with big choice of cereals (even gluten-free options), jams and fresh bread, but there was also cheese and joghurt available.

The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Staff were easily available during the opening hours of the pub and very friendly and forthcoming. One night there was a Problem with the WiFi and I was promptly informed and an alternative solution was suggested. Location of the place is fantastic. Right next to the train station and seven minutes on foot from the city center. On the way down to the river there are a lot if different pubs, restaurants and cafes. So it's possible to enjoy breakfast at a different place everytime.

The newly renovated Glendine Inn is fast becoming one of Kilkenny’s best known establishments for Dining/Accommodation and atmosphere.
