Beautiful hotel that feels like it's in the middle of nowhere, with lovely rooms and a cosy restaurant area. The hot tubs overlooking the lake are great. The food was very good both at dinner and breakfast (we loved the happy marriage cake - the best we had in Iceland - and the homemade blueberry jam!)

such a lovely place! yes, you need a 50 kms ride from Egillsstadir and 25 are on a gravel road, but when you arrive there you just forget about it! A farm literally lost in the middle of nowhere, where the only noises you will hear are from the birds or other animals. We also got a warm and almost sunny weather, along with the midnight sun (or twilight) so the atmosphere was just perfect. The hostel itself is lovely too, the rooms are really nice , everything is quite functional (kitchen WC showers etc) . One of the best hostels I have ever been. If you have a chance (we had not, unfortunately) to stay more than a night, you can enjoy some activities there . So don't miss this unique place

This little house cannot be called luxury, but it is incredibly cozy. We had the best three days of our 2-weeks journey around Iceland in this place. It is especially well equipped with every little detail to make you feel at home and relaxed. The kitchen has everything one might think of. Small but very cozy bedroom, where you feel like in a cradle and don't want to leave. Thank you very much to the owner who has thought of everything with love and care! Very much recommended!!!

Very large rooms. Easy check-in. Even if there was a pub next door, it didn't bother us. Parking directly in front of the room. The kitchen has a lot of dishes to use. We saw the aurora for the first time just in front of hostel!

Just perfect. Nice little walking path around the house and the breakfast was the best we had during our two week trip in Iceland.

The property is very spacious and has everything you need. The owner is very friendly and responsive. Perfect location for those who want to explore Hengifoss or Stuðlagil Canyon. The complimentary coffee was by far the best coffee we had in Iceland!
