Before our arrival we ran into roadblocks and arrived at the place at 23.30 hrs. Check in slot had already passed but the owner waited for us. Next day he helped us with our desert trip. They also helped us qith booking transport. We left early in de morning but they already had made us coffee. They made sure that the bus stopped at their place for us to board. Such nice people!

It was really cool to be out in the middle of nowhere in the desert. The hotel is very rustic and located on a functioning ranch with cows and horses and everything. It is also walking distance from the two grey desert hiking trails. The owner was really friendly and fun to chat with as well as helpful with anything we needed. The food was also some of the best hotel food we’ve had.

The staff was really nice. It's located 500 m from the observatory (there are 5 observatories in Tatacoa desert) which is convenient if you want to do the star gazing. It's also 5 min walk from a few restaurants. They offer breakfast, luncb and dinner for a small charge. They rent bikes and offer a tour to the Grey and Red desert which we took as it was nice hearing about the fornations, how the desert (or rather dry tropical forest) came to be. There's a lot of different types of birds in the garden. Since it's in a desert, there's no electricity, meaning there's no fridge, but they have ice available if you want to cool your drinks. There's no wifi which we didn't mind as it was nice to relax and just enkoy the nature. Staff was very helpful with organizing the transport back to Villaviejas. The room was nice and quite spacious, clean, but very hot (which is to be expected in the middle of the desert). There's a fan in the room.

Ask your tuktuk-driver that takes you to the hostel to stop at the desierto rojo (about 5km away from the hostel) for 1h so that you can take a walk through this stunning landscape (if you want you can ask him to guide you).

The staff are so nice and helpful. They offer really great tours to the desert and also a cheap breakfast with more options than the usual eggs! Nice communal sitting area on the terrace and a water filter so you don't have to keep buying bottles.

Hostal Makesa Tatacoa se nachází v destinaci Villavieja a nabízí ubytování s TV s plochou obrazovkou. Na místě je k dispozici soukromé parkoviště a dostupné je také bezplatné Wi-Fi ve všech... Byly jsme s kamarádkou mimo sezónu, mohly jsme si vybrat pokoj, který se nám líbil. Vše čisté Ubytovatelé velmi ochotní, nápomocní, se vším poradili. Výborná snídaně. Zajistili nám výlet do pouště i collectivo, když jsme odjížděly. Dokonce nás odvezli na zastávku, odkud collectivo odjíždělo. Mohu všem doporučit!!

Campamento Estrella Casa del Ángel se nachází v destinaci La Victoria a nabízí bezplatné Wi-Fi, venkovní bazén, zahradu a sdílený lounge. This hotel is truly amazing!! Very romantic with great desert views and a gorgeous pool. The staff was amazing and had great attention to detail. Highly recommend staying at least 2 nights to be sure to see the stars and enjoy a full day with the guide provided by the hotel. Also appreciated that they sent the guide to show us the way to the hotel once we arrived at villavieja. Would stay again.
