Easy to find and it was in exactly the right spot for our journey as we passed through the area. Sam was really helpful before we arrived sharing ideas for local restaurants and even offered help to secure our motorcycles overnight. We ate at the cave next door on Sam’s recommendation and it was lovely too. The room was clean, very comfortable and well decorated. The bed was perfect and combined with the blackout blinds meant that we had a great nights sleep. The building is on a road but we heard nothing from it all night. Now, special mention goes to Sam for the breakfast. After years of travelling all over the world and our frequent use of services like booking.com and Airbnb etc… I can honestly say that the breakfast was one of the best and most generous I have seen. It was very beautifully presented, delivered to our room door, wonderfully tasty and there was almost too much for us. It set us up well for a long day on the bikes.

It has two rooms. We stayed with our one year old and five year old. Florence, the host, was so welcoming and had thought of everything to make our stay comfortable and fun. The kids had their own box of toys to play with in the shade while we all had free drinks on arrival. The room was great, stylish and good quality fittings in the bedroom and bathroom, clearly a lot of thought and care has gone into it. There was a double bed and a sofa bed. Great rain shower with lots of pressure, two sinks etc. Little details that you just don’t get in other hotels such as actually providing wash cloths. The room wasn’t huge but it was absolutely fine and to be honest it didn’t matter because of everything else available. Downstairs is a kitchenette with plenty of appliances to make dinner, and games room with table football, piano, guitar, arcade machine and lots of books and board games. Enough space and fun to keep everyone entertained. Outside is the pool which is a great size, and kept very clean. There are lots of loungers and tables to sit at, plenty of shade where needed which was great in the heatwave for our kids, and again lots of toys for use in the pool. Pool towels provided. Breakfast was lovely - croissants, melon, bread, cheese, conserves and even some delicious brownies. Highchair and baby plates provided for our little one. We wouldn’t hesitate to come back and stay again and I would strongly recommend going here over a big chain hotel. It was perfect for us as a stopover on the way back to England.

PETIT MAS COSY DU BORD DE LOIRE a 15 MM DU PARC LE PAL se může pochlubit výhledem do zahrady a nabízí ubytování s patiem a kávovarem. Cathédrale de Moulins se nachází přibližně 41 km odtud. We had cycled 170km from Briare in very high temperatures which set our expected arrival time back a few hours and our hosts were very understanding. Upon arrival in Diou (it was a Monday evening around 6pm) nothing in the village was open and our hosts drove to a neighbouring village to pick up a couple of pizzas for us. We are eternally grateful! We couldn't ask for more. The accommodation it's self was a self contained annex within the grounds of the main house. It was very clean and tidy and had everything we needed including facilities to wash our cycling clothes. We had a lovely evening sat outside eating our pizza in beautiful surroundings. We fully recommend Petit Mas Cosy if you are in the area but please note Diou is a small village and food outlets might be closed on certain days. (I think this goes for many villages in central France during the summer months)

Food was extraordinarily good. Lauren's breakfast was the best I've ever had ( not to be missed) and Alexandra offered wonderful front of house.

Our hosts were lovely people and we enjoyed every minute with them. The bed was great and the breakfast excellent! Our dog made a new friend with their dog and enjoyed watching the chickens.

Could charge our electric car in a secure parking spot. Good advice from the host. Recently restored with excellent taste.
