Excellent location, few steps from the gate of the National Park! Room was very comfortable and very clean. Bed was super comfortable too and mosquito net provided. Air con was a welcome relief from the heat. Bathroom was also spacious and clean, hot water was great. The owner was the sweetest man, his nephew messaged to ask if I wanted dinner, I declined, but the owner knocked on my door to give me fruit and ice cream so I wouldn’t go hungry at night. So sweet! His nephew also provided me with a welcome drink and even took me on the safari. Highly recommend doing the safari with them, they were the most affordable and they really considered what animals I wanted to see and tried their best to find them. The breakfast, lunch and snacks were so good! I was very well fed! They were very accommodating to me and really put in effort to help me when my card had issues. I will definitely stay with them again.

Safari is the best - we have seen almost every animal in the map - leopard, bear, elephants, and all kinds of birds.

Beautiful secluded villa on two levels overlooking the rice paddies and a proliferation of birds and other wildlife. Very near to Willpatu National Park. The place is spotlessly clean, spacious and comfortable. Manju the manager is outstanding and looked after our every need. He is attentive and answers to messages immediately. He cooked us a delicious lunch and breakfast and cleaned up after, we didn't need to do anything except enjoy the view, the birdsong and the lovely tranquil atmosphere.

Anton has built a little piece of paradise with his property, which is just a few minutes to the entrance of the national park. He is a top-notch young man who is kind, knowledgeable, and helpful as well as an amazing photographer. I highly recommend this place if you are looking to connect with nature.

The host is really friendly and kind. We had a super tasty and variated dinner, local food self service style with an explanation of every dish! Spectacular! The room was peacefull and tidy, sleeping with all the forest noises was fabulous. We highly reccomend to stay here!

The Backwaters property is located very near to Wilpattu National Park. It is a beautifully designed highly Eco friendly establishment. The owner to the other supports staff are all VERY friendly and they catered to our every need. The sunset River Safari arranged by the property was amazing. Our guide, Mubarak, had the most amazing eye to spot beautiful birds along the way. The food offered at the restaurant was healthy and tasty. We will definitely recommend this property to our friends and family.

We had the best time staying at Wild Wadi Wilpattu. The property is located about 5 - 10 minutes from the Wilpattu park entrance which not only means you can easily book a safari but you also experience some incredible wild life just steps outside your door. We cannot praise the staff enough. Everyone we spoke with was so nice and so accommodating. It’s very clear that the folks at Wild Wadi are very passionate about animals, the environment and sharing all of their knowledge with their guests. We had breakfast and dinner at Wild Wadi each night. We had traditional Sri Lankan meals and it was some of the best food we had so far on our trip. We would highly recommend booking at Wild Wadi if you are visiting Wilpattu - such an incredible experience! We will be back!

Everything about our stay was great! The property was new and the wildlife photos in each room were taken by the owner! The couple was very sweet and knowledgeable about the area.

Amazing location, just 15min Drive to the entry of the national park and as we were coming in the evening, we had an elephant crossing just outside our hotel. Such a good start of the safari. we took 3 rooms so whole 3 floors were ours. The staff was super friendly; they helped carry our bags and show us rooms. prepared dinner in advance. Quick response to all of our questions. Next morning prepared take away boxes for breakfast and lunch for our safari day trip. We had an awesome weather. So more elephants, tons of birds, alligator I think, and..... leopard. The only reason we visited this safari was to see leopard and it was a perfect choice. Not alot of tourists and we've seen everything we wanted. On a way back, last 10 min started to rain and the hotel staff helped up with bags again and easy check out. They were always helpful and kind. I read some other reviews saying that the place is under construction - but its not relevant. Yes, they started the business maybe couple of years ago and they do develope slowly but they try and work very hard to make us tourists happy. We had a group of 5 people, parents are senior and we all loved it and would definitely recommend this place to everyone.

We were always very well looked after and Suga and all staff took great care of us and were very kind. We loved the location, very peaceful, in the middle of the jungle and very beautiful! The staff prepared amazing dinner and breakfast for us - quality food and very big portions! Suga organised a half day safari for us and it was smooth and we had a great time even in the rain. The room was beautiful and comfortable, we loved looking out to the trees from the room.
