I could not recommend it enough, the best accommodation in Tunisia. We received a very warm welcome from the owners. They served us traditional food, which we ate on the terrace with great views over the canyon and mountains. Squeaky clean room, beautifully furnished and spacious. The region is very peaceful and clean, Toujane is a great choice for a "base" to make daytrips from, see the ksars, Sahara desert and even Tozeur (whole day of driving there and back but it's worth it).

This is a wonderful hotel! While my friends stayed at L'Auberge, I chose Dar Ayed and loved it. It is run by wonderful, helpful locals from the small town and I don't think the photos do the beautiful place justice. The watchtower is wonderful to climb and get a view (with a friendly cat companion). The rooms were beyond comfortable and very stylish - I was inspired to buy my own beautiful woven bedspread! There is a pool, lots of outdoor hangouts and views for days. The gardens are beautiful with fresh flowers and veg. Finally I had the best meal of my 2 weeks in Tunisia here (and food is a big part of why I travel). An incredible bean stew, appetizers, goat in tajine, dessert, fresh fruit. It was delightful and the staff was so lovely. I felt very safe and well-cared for as a solo female traveller.

Patrick and Sabrina were very helpful and loving host. The place was impeccable and one of a kind. You could only see for yourself. Words cannot express how unique this place is. The dinner and breakfast were beyond standard.

Room was very comfortable & I got a great night sleep. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I opted for dinner & breakfast & the serves were massive. Overall, spending the night was such a fun experience and definate value for money.

Au Trait d'Union Tijma Matmata se nachází v destinaci Matmata a má restauraci, sdílenou kuchyň, bar, zahradu, terasu a výhled na hory. The staff were friendly and accommodating with serving us breakfast despite it being Ramadan. This is such a neat place to stay. Be sure to check out the guest book and photo album in the dining room. I will definitely bring family and friends here again!
