The highlight was the tour with Alfred seeing the desert elephants. His knowledge and passion for the elephants and the area (he was born here ) was such an inspiration and we were all touched by his love of home. A memory we will treasure forever. If you are considering this place - just go!!! A memory of a lifetime if you like wilderness.

The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. Everything was amazing at this lodge, the food, the rooms and the service! We stayed two nights but could have stayed easily longer.

There is a fully equipped private bathroom with shower and free toiletries. The staff in particular at this hotel are exceptional. They are so welcoming and friendly - made our stay memorable.

Located in Damaraland, Huab Lodge & BushSPA is surrounded by lush vegetation. It features a swimming pool and a natural thermal spring. It has a bar and offers free Wi-Fi and free parking.

Each bungalow at the Huab Lodge features a private veranda overlooking the area and hills. They all have a private bathroom with twin basins and views from the shower. All of them have thatched roofs and typical African decoration. We stayed in a lot of great places in Namibia, but this was our absolute favourite. Beautiful accommodation, stunning setting, warm and friendly service. We loved the rooms with the huge balcony, and the large communal dining/bar area. All guests (and the owners) sit together at one large sociable dinner table, the food is excellent. We also did the Desert Elephant Tour with Deon - this was a real highlight of our trip. We were lucky to find the elephants, but even if we hadn't it would have been worthwhile for the beautiful journey along the ephemeral river beds (and the lunch!). This place is very special and we will come back one day.

Located 25 km from Khorixas, Gondwana Damara Mopane Lodge offers accommodation set in a semi-circle of interlinking pathways with a swimming pool at the centre.

Each room at Gondwana Damara Mopane Lodge has a private garden, air conditioning, tea-and-coffee-making facilities and an en suite bathroom. Everything. Especially all the staff. Landscape previous. Excelent accommodation.

Located in Khorixas, Aabadi Mountain Camp provides accommodation with free private parking.

Petrified Forest Khorixas is 30 km from the lodge. We spent two fantastic days in this mountain camp, surrounded by peaceful nature. A special thanks goes out to the chef Marysne who surprised us with delicious dinners out of nowhere. They have just taken over this place and we were last minute guests, nevertheless she could manage to put together amazing meals. Mongetti, our host, new in his role did a great job to welcome and look after us. The location is exceptional, nearby the touristic attractions, you need a car, organ pipes, burned mountains, Twyfelfontein site and elephant safari (strongly recommended, much less busy than etosha). At the back of the camp, on the top of the hill you can see a stunning sunset. I would definitely come back.
