The hotel was easy to find--centrally located on the main road. Our room was modern, clean, and comfortable. The air conditioning actually worked, I was so thrilled (the other hotels on our trip had advertised air conditioning that didn't really work after all)!! The AC was fully adjustable in our room, so I sat there on the bed like a penguin that sits under the snow machine in the exhibit at the zoo; it was heaven. The breakfast was SO GOOD. Americans, this place had the crispiest bacon I have ever seen on the European continent. On our way to and from our room, we passed through a game room with foosball and pool tables, so naturally I challenged my husband to a game of pool (I won). There was on-site parking, and the connecting restaurant was also fantastic--we had dinner there. Our room also had a balcony which was nice. When we mentioned to the front desk upon checkout that we were going to the lake on our way out of town, they gave us a coupon so we wouldn't have to pay to go to the public beach.

We had a wonderful stay at this traditional location in Carinthia. The room was lovely, breakfast in the garden was delightful, and evenings on the terrace were truly relaxing. The food was excellent, and we especially enjoyed Lake Feld am See and the nearby private beach. It’s a perfect place to feel peaceful and safe. A special thanks to Youssef, who was absolutely impeccable throughout our stay!

A lovely little lake for swimming, so it's not too crowded.

A lovely little lake for swimming, so it's not too crowded. The quiet, public beach on the north shore is highly recommended. There's a supermarket nearby. Two good restaurants – Glinzner by the lake and Lindner in the village. As a general rule for all of Carinthia: always check the closing days. Most restaurants are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays – even in peak season!

We stopped for one night on our way to Italy, but the town made a very good impression on us. It was small and quiet, but everything a traveler needs was within easy reach: a gas station with prices significantly lower than those on the main roads. A well-stocked supermarket.

Afritz is very quiet, yet not far from many holiday...

Afritz is very quiet, yet not far from many holiday attractions. You can also take beautiful, long hikes in and around the village. A minor injury also gave me experience with the medical care available both in the village and at the clinic in Villach. Everything was very courteous and excellent.

Near Afritz, there are some mountain lakes.

Near Afritz, there are some mountain lakes. You can walk around them. There are spots to stretch out and sunbathe. This place is perfect for those who want to spend a few days in complete tranquility, away from the noise of the city, and breathe in the fresh air.
