FAQs about hotels in Vienna

Waltz Through the Pretty Streets of Vienna

Previously the centre of the Hapsburg Empire, Vienna is the current centre of Austria’s culture, economics, and politics. Visitors may think they are in a museum as they walk through the historic first district, but Vienna also has a youthful and dynamic side with lots to offer.

St Stephens Cathedral in the Inner-City is surrounded by the Ring Road, with grandiose buildings like City Hall, the Austrian Parliament, the State Opera House and the Burgtheater. Enjoy the city where amazing musicians like Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, and Mahler once lived. If you’'re visiting during the carnival season, practice your waltzing skills at one of Vienna’s 200 glamorous annual balls.

Visitors can wander around beautiful park grounds in the Wiener Prater and Schonbrunn Palace provides imperial and extravagant grounds to stroll through. After exploring, eat with the locals by enjoying famous sandwiches at Trzesniewski, a Wiener Schnitzel at Cafe Central or taste traditional wines at the city’s many Viennese pubs.

Vienna International Airport is the doorway to the heart of Vienna. Booking.com has luxury hotels, charming bed & breakfasts and modern apartments to meet any accommodation needs for your stay in Austria’s capital.

Vienna is always a treat.

Vienna is always a treat. The architecture of some of the old Palaces and churches is just awesome. There are plenty of restaurants, which offer good food. And of course plenty of concerts if you like.

One of the most beautiful cities I’ve ever visited,...

One of the most beautiful cities I’ve ever visited, literally too much to see in the time I was there. I stayed next to the main station, which was handy to catch my trains, but it was a bit of a walk into the historical part of the city. It was worth the walk though, it was stunningly beautiful! I would highly recommend Der Wiener Deewan, a brilliant all you can eat Pakistani buffet restaurant, where you only pay what you think it’s worth! 4 or 5 different dishes each day, with rice & bread, & the staff are soooo nice! If you are in Vienna on the weekend & you love a flea market, you HAVE to check out the flohmarkt at the Naschmarkt. It’s insanely busy, & some of the stuff is very pricey due to the huge amount of tourists that go, but it is definitely worth a look. Public transport is also great in Vienna, as well as being good value. Well worth a visit!

Vienna is amazing.

Vienna is amazing. Most places are cheap, but museums can come a bit pricy. It is definetely worth every penny though! Their transit system works perfectly & every day. A little tip: if you happen to stay in Wien on a sunday, there are couple of stores in Wien Hauptbahnhof (their central station) that are open. So if you are hungry & don't know ehre to go it is a great option. Also another tip. Download OBB when you come down from the airport. Buy yourself a ticket from the app (the booths are always full with people on-site) It should say Flughafen - Wien Mitte (Airport - Wien Mitte/Central). The ticket is 4.80 euro instead of the 16-20 euros for the other transfers or the CAT busses. The ride is also shorter, no trafic and underground. 20 minutes and you are where you are supossed to be. Also at Wien Mitte you can find a metro! Many touristic traps, so good to know beforehand! For every other transit ticket like metro, bus, tram - download Wien Mobile, sign up & put your card inside for a faster ticekt buying. You can buy many tickets, just don't forget to activate it!! Also a ticket is 2.20 euros, one-way. Good luck & enjoy Wien!

Oh my!

Oh my! The palace tour, the churches, the 1897 ferris wheel, the octoberfest, the beautiful old buildings, the food both Austrian and other, the coffee and Sacher torte at the Hotel Sacher, the public transportation. I want to go back as I was not there long enough.

A beautiful city with a 1st class transport system.

A beautiful city with a 1st class transport system. Plenty of fantastic galleries and museums. Interesting mix of older Habsburg architecture and new cutting edge buildings especially in the area behind Vienna Hbf where I stayed. Not too expensive a tasty schnitzel with friendly service is around 20 euros. The wonderful coffee houses are still there as well as a wide selection of bars and taverns.

Vienna has so many attractions and such a diversity of activities that one is likely to find something interesting no matter the taste. It is definitely wonderful for art lovers, and is a must-go for music lovers. Cafes, galleries, shops galore, full of history and buzz. Be prepared to share it with lots of other visitors, too, and avoid the must-go places like some overrated cafes or galleries at peak times. The weather may be on your side with sunshine and mild temperatures, but be also prepared for less clement weather, wind and rain. Overall, definitely worth at least a few days' stay.

This property was booked for its close proximity to the city’s main railway station. (It’s directly opposite.) We were transiting from London to Graz via Vienna. Access from the city centre appears free from congestion. The hotel is clean, comfortable and modern. The staff were professional and efficient. The room was very well presented and maintained. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choices on offer and guests able to graze at their leisure.

The hotel is located within 8 minutes flat walk to Vienna Hbf railway station and is surrounded by restaurants and bars. The city centre is a short ride by tram. The room we occupied was situated on the 1st floor and was spacious, clean and quiet. The extra large bed was extremely comfortable. The hotel’s greatest assets was its staff who were most friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We enjoyed our stay and would use this hotel again.

The room was very clean and you have everything you need for your short stay in Vienna in a compact space (hair dryer, fridge, kettle, plates, cutleries, small fan etc.)! The Westbahnhof station is in 10min walk, and from there the city centre is just 10min by underground. It's not like a hotel room decorated in a fancy way, but great for the price you pay.
