Quiet location with free parking on site only a 10min walk to the old town along the banks of the Rhine River. We stayed on the 2nd floor, stairs only, but no problem to us. A very good fan cools the room in hot weather & there are opening doors & windows to the balcony. Comfortable beds & a very modern bathroom. Franz provided home made bread, jams etc for breakfast, which included fresh fruit .Both Franz & Marlene were very friendly & helpful offering tips for eating out & sightseeing. We felt the B & B was excellent value for money in a very expensive country, enjoyed our stay & would recommend it to others.

Very quaint town along the Rhein river. Easy to drive to Schaffhausen and Rheinfalls. Also easy access to the boats going up and down the river. We rented eBikes at River Bike in town, and there are some great bike paths (like Stein am Rhein to Diessenhofen which goes through a forest in Germany).

The old town and the information about the history of the buildings and families are worth a visit, if not a trip. It's easy to find good food (restaurants, cafes, bakeries, etc.), and the right bank of the Rhine offers pleasant places to relax. The region is ideal for walking and cycling.

There are many beautiful old buildings, stories/museums, shops, restaurants, the river, etc. So many lovely things! We've been there three times already, always discovering or trying something new. This time we tried the homemade ice cream with fresh berries at the bakery-confectionery in the market square, and it's sensationally fruity (it's the season for it).

The apartment's location, close to the Rhine and the vineyards, is hygienic and clean. But it's very stuffy; there's no air conditioning or fan, and no mosquito screens for the many mosquitoes. There's no garden or privacy; the apartment faces the road.

A beautiful, historic little town.

A beautiful, historic little town. Wonderful old buildings with lovely paintings. The main street and the Schiffländi (riverside promenade) are the most interesting parts. Unfortunately, the restaurants are in the very high category. Stein am Rhein is easily explored on foot.

The accommodation was modest but very pleasant. Everything was clean and tidy, with a homely atmosphere. Compared to hotels with fluffy towels and crisp white linens, this felt more like a cozy family cabin in the mountains. The same for food: Breakfast wasn’t extravagant rich, but lovingly prepared by the owner, who served coffee and tea with a warm smile and a friendly chat. A very nice experience. The place is the best, few steps from centrum. Thank you and see you next time.

Our host was amazing and he offered us the River view room without any charge. The lake view from room in the morning is amazing when the fog is lifting. The room is beautiful with old style logs re-used to beautify the hotel. The breakfast room is situated to get a clean view of the Rhein river which is beautiful. The hotel is within touching distance of the old town.

The locations was perfect. Right near the main part of town and bridge. Beautiful old hotel with a wonderful view. Christian was an incredibly friendly host and tried his best to make us welcome. The food was very good at both evening dinner and breakfast.
