I can’t say there was anything I didn’t like! The location was beautiful, parking easy, the spa amazing, my room and the view off the balcony was beautiful! Everything was very well thought out. I liked the refreshment stands on each floor, I thought it that was a really good touch! It wasn’t a massive hotel so getting around was super easy, the restaurants were lovely and the food, well, yum!! All the staff seemed very pleasant and friendly. Nothing was too much :) the spa area is phenomenal, so so relaxing! The outdoor pools and area are fabulous, if you enjoy nature then this is the place! I had a manicure whilst I was there and my therapist was lovely! Very friendly too. I don’t think I’ve felt that relaxed in a long time, thank you.

Super comfortable location, Monica was great in taking care of everyone. Breakfast is amazing with a wide choice of salty and sweet, fresh bread every day. The atmosphere is very familiar. Just 2 minutes from the train station - great if you stay here to hike around. But also, 7min walking distance to the city center. Lovely stay, very quite despite the closeness to the train station (you don't hear a thing). Comfy bed while the pillow is the classic huge and structureless that hotels love so much.

The owner(Robert) came to pick us up from the train station and he is very friendly. Hotel is near to the Appenzell train station(600m) We got an early check-in and late check-out. Delicious breakfast buffet. Spacious bathroom with a bath tub. Large balcony with a beatifull city view.

We had a comfortable stay. My mom got strain in legs and staff helped her with bandage and cream to reduce pain. Rooms are big and clean.Smells really nice. Breakfast was served on table so you don't have to run all the time to get stuff.

We arrived by car but walked back to Appenzell when we checked out to catch a train. It was a beautiful walk through meadows and woods and took 2 hours 45 minutes. The staff were friendly and the place very clean. Excellent location for walking . On one walk we stopped for coffee at the Ahorn and it was lovely.

Weissbad Lodge is a lovely place, casual, with reduced service but excellent very modern and comfortable rooms just adjacent to the Weissbad train station and not far from the town of Appenzell and the the Ebenalp and Hoher Kasten cable cars. It is a lovely tranquil area to spend a few days. Especially innovative is the breakfast delivered in a paper bag to your door in the morning and the Generosity Wall which has a coffee machine, a snack machine, a microwave , utensils etc. to make your stay more pleasant. The main Hof Weissbad hotel is nearby and available for for first class restaurant meals as is the really fine Alpenhof family restaurant just across the small river that runs by the lodge. It should be noted that the Appenzell Card is a terrific free offer for guests who stay three nights in the canton: it includes train travel from anywhere in Switzerland, free local public transport entrance to a number of museums and other attractions as well as cable car rides. Really a special deal.

A truly beautiful hotel, lodge, and especially the main building, Hof Weissbad. The staff were courteous. I didn't know beforehand that a Gault Millau-starred chef was based there, but the food was correspondingly excellent.

Weissbad is synonymous with hiking, and the surroundings are not handicap friendly. There are good options, including the cable car to Ebenalp which is located in Wasserauen, hiking boots and poles a must. There are good train connections, as everywhere in Switzerland.

There are lovely restaurants in the village and in the nearby villages (1 and 3 km away, within walking distance). Because we stayed for 4 nights, we received a card for free use of the train, bus, and cable car. Very convenient for day trips. Appenzell is a charming village with pleasant terraces.

This property is amazing, I didn't expect such a big hotel and the one of this quality. Everything is great and really thought out. Great breakfast, great sauna, great restaurant (if the chef works up mains a bit, I really see Michelin star for them in the future, the starters are already there, btw). Great bar with live music. Tea and water and fruits are available 24 h on every floor. Honestly, everything was perfect.

Very quiet, good views, room with balcony looking up and down the valley, well located for buses and walking. The gastkarte (all local hotels offer it) gives lots of free and reduced rate use of transport and attractions. Wifi worked well. Breakfast was plentiful and quite varied. The one night dinner was available it was lovely. Friendly owners.

The best thing about this hotel is the location, right next to the train stop and on the way to several good hiking routes. Plus the views are stunning. As for the room, the bed was comfortable and the balcony sunbed was a lovely place to relax at the end of the day.
