Beautiful beaches but you can see why this place hasn’t taken off as a tourist resort. No one speaks English. It’s not child friendly. Nothing opens until 9. Santander is a popular resort for mainly Spanish visitors. It's an attractive city with plenty to see and do. It's family friendly too. It's easy to get to nearby Bilbao, or to Potes in the mountains. There are fast and frequent coach services all over the region.
