The property was the most insanely gorgeous hotel property I’ve ever experienced. We couldn’t believe it wasn’t part of a museum. Every detail was immaculate. Loved that it was a hotel (more like an estate,) a vineyard, a spa, somewhat of an art museum, a Michelin restaurant hub, and you could walk and explore the grounds. You don’t even have to go into town (which is a quick 15 min drive) because they have it all.

I was there for a short stay, but I'd hoped to see its...

I was there for a short stay, but I'd hoped to see its bright spots. However, since it was November, apparently anything to do with Cezanne is closed. His atelier was closed, which I didn't understand because as an artist myself, I know artists can do their art in the winter. Also, the Cezanne room in the Musée Granet was closed, and they were not showing the biographical film on him. The only Cezanne thing open was the outdoor forest/quarry area where Cezanne painted, but I would have need a car to get there, or Uber, and it was freezing cold, apparently a surprise for this time of year in Aix. The Christmas markets were open, which was nice, although so many of them seemed to sell the same things. Aix is a very popular place, and I hope the managers of the town realize that tourists come there not just in the summer.

A nice little town in the south of France.

A nice little town in the south of France. The town centre is lovely with little narrow streets with a variety of shops and places to eat everywhere you turn. Museum-wise, there's only a couple and they are rather on the small side. I would recommend checking you don't come during low-season, bank holidays or during closures for changing exhibitions otherwise your choices would be limited. However, you can take local buses to the surrounding areas where there are more attractions, villages, etc, but you should plan ahead and with enough time. Getting to: be aware that the TGV station is around 18km out of town, so you need to either take a bus or taxi to Aix town proper. The local train station can only be reached via Marseille, so plan accordingly.

Amazing city, full of positive vibes, a gem of southern France, very close to Marseille and Nice which are worth visiting if there is time. TEh connection, either by bus, shuttle or train, is very good. Don't opt for taxis, they're very expensive and there is no need for them. The old city is entirely pedestrian, full of coffee places, bars, and restaurants for all tastes, with a vivid population and lots of tourists in November! This city is amazing, full of positive vibes, and is a gem in southern France. It is very close to Marseille and Nice, both of which are worth visiting if you have the time. The connections by bus, shuttle, or train are excellent, so there's no need to choose taxis, which can be quite expensive. The old city is entirely pedestrianized and features numerous coffee shops, bars, and restaurants to suit all tastes. Despite being November, the area is lively with both locals and tourists! This city is amazing, full of positive vibes, and is a gem in southern France. It is very close to Marseille and Nice, both of which are worth visiting if you have the time. The connections by bus, shuttle, or train are excellent, so there's no need to choose taxis, which can be quite expensive. It's an active town and easy to walk around.

It's an active town and easy to walk around. Some people may find it too crowded compared to the smaller villages in Provence. Most of the tourist attractions including galleries and museums are booked way in advance.

A stunningly beautiful old town a blended mixture of medieval and 17th century buildings of honey-coloured stone and made all the better because cars are banned from the entire old centre. So all you hear are people's voices . Incredible markets on Tuesdays and Saturdays and a vibrant relaxed atmosphere. One of the most engaging and beautiful towns in France I have visited.

Novotel Pont del Arc is ideal accommodation for car based family roaming in Provence, as we have enjoyed for more than three decades. Few locations have maintained the same level of excellent service. Aix is a VERY special place, being the hometown of Cezanne, Zola etc. and ideal base for exploring the whole of Provence, particularly the Cote d'Azur, Marseilles, Grimaud, the Callanque etc etc. :-),

This is a great boutique hotel right on the main boulevard of Aix. We didn't take advantage of the spa facilities, so we can't report on that. But the location is great, a "city hotel" in Aix. There are bars and restaurants everywhere on the street, and little markets everywhere. The room was not large, but it made up for that in excellent facilities. There is parking available, which however is not free -- but that is to be expected in the middle of the city. The hotel's bar and restaurant were very nice.

Wonderful period building beautifully decorated. The property is conveniently located in the center of Aix en Provence. It feels more like an upscale Bed & Breakfast than a boutique hotel. Anthony and Margherita are wonderful and helpful hosts. I was given what I believe to be the best room in the building. Very spacious with Nespresso machine. Lovely spacious bathroom

everybody was friendly and welcoming. We stayed here as our base to visit Provence. The hotel is a 20 mins walk into Aix Centre however there's also a bus stop a 2 mins walk away. Can't fault this hotel at all and would definitely recommend.

This is a very comfortable and even lux hotel in Aix-en-provence. Just 5 min walk from the city centre, with a very nice restaurant and reception. Nice sized rooms.
