Amazing jewel - so close to wonderful nearby towns, gardens, local attractions. Canoeing is 5 minutes away and Domme and Sarlat are just a short ride away. Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful all the way. Sauna and pool are just perfect. Would love to return to this wonderful picturesque terrace to sip wine and watch the sunset!

Location: Perfect location right in the center of the town, easy walking distance to sites and restaurants. Although it was in a pedestrian area, our van was able to park just across to bring down our luggage. Breakfast: Excellent breakfast! The buffet selection was well-curated and of high quality. Room: Beautifully-designed rooms and thoughtful amenities. Comfortable beds and pillows. Everything was spotlessly clean, too. Staff and service: For us, the staff is the most valuable asset of the Manoir. Service was very personal. Everyone went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable and welcome. We were spoiled. :) From helping us with our many, heavy luggage, attending to our requests during breakfast, providing amazing assistance during a room service -- everything was done with a smile. Thank you so much to David and the rest of the team for making our stay memorable.

We booked this stay at the last minute as we were supposed to stay somewhere else. The man at the desk was so so nice when we arrived. He was so sorry that there were no double rooms available but we didn't mind staying in a twin, we were just happy to have a room for the night. He served drinks until 10pm and there was a gorgeous deck out the front with fairy lights. Very beautiful.

Sarlat is a wonderful place. Everyone we met were friendly. The restaurants were excellent. My only complaint are the dogs! The French are lousy dog owners. The dogs are allowed to relieve themselves anywhere, and, the owners make no effort to clean it up. Walking down the main shopping street in the old town can be an adventure.

Sarlat-la-Caneda has been a great choice as the base of my stay in Dordogne. It is central and well equipped offering various tours in the region and access to superb restaurants in town and in its vicinity, like La Belle Etoile and Le Presidial to name two. I took three half-day tours to explore the villages of Dordogne, the Rocamadour, and the Lascaux caves with expert guides. I enjoyed all of them to the full. This has been one of my best solo trips!

Market was incredible on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Hard to get around without a car. We took several small tours with Ophorus and that great. Rented a car one day and would have liked to have it more. Getting in to the grottos, it's important to make reservations in advance at least a few days before even in the off-season.

Fabulous and unspoiled medieval city.

Fabulous and unspoiled medieval city. The city is divided by a straight road with many shops. It is good to explore both sides. One has all the main buildings the other side has a maze of charming streets. at night the town is gaslit - very atmospheric! The market is exceptional.

What a fantastic town to visit!

What a fantastic town to visit! Don't miss canoeing on the Dordogne but pick a company that lets you park your boat at Beynac, not 20 minutes past that town, if you plan to visit it. Don't miss Lascaux caves. Plan to spend 1-2 hours at the castles of Beynac and Castlenaud. The are both very well presented. The TI can give you a good list of taxis to take you to these towns and to Vitrac for canoes, and many of them speak English. Sarlat itself is gorgeous and fun to visit. Try to be there on a market day, an unforgettable experience.

We loved the town of Sarlat.

We loved the town of Sarlat. An old genuine medieval town, well kept. The markets were amazing, eateries, so much to see and do in and around Sarlat. Do NOT miss canoeing down the Dordogne either.

Clean, modern and well located. This is a great hotel for a short or long stay. The spa was excellent and had just enough facilities. The bar was excellent and had a good choice of drinks and a billiards table. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Located right in the heart of Sarlat and a stone throw from the market.

Excellent location for walking into the centre of Sarlat but we were very pleased it was quiet and away from the crowds. Parking was good, a bit tight for a large car but plenty of availability. We enjoyed the breakfast and found the room comfortable with all we needed. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
