Absolute stunning experience! Maybe it is because the hotel is fairly new, but the staff were amazing and very nice! The hotel is modern/fancy, has everything needed (except perhaps 1 thing: I was missing power outlets in the bathroom). Tea and coffee are good quality, as well as the equipment (hair dryer, ironing board, etc). Rooms are cozy, beds are comfy and really clean. (There is a common bedbug issue in the UK, but definitely not in this hotel!) There is a nice bar downstairs that offers welcome drinks at 5 pm. I think there is no breakfast option but there is a kitchenette in the room so you can prep your breakfast and store food in the small fridge.

A very unique place to stay within easy access into Edinburgh with the tram. The staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the boat and the refurbishment. Nothing was any bother at all. The service from pre-check in to check out really was second to none. Rooms were comfortable and didn't have any TVs which was actually a refreshing change. Plenty of plug sockets near the bed. Also very nice to see some Scottish toiletries from Arran Aromatics. Breakfast was delicious (continental) and we used the lounge area in the evening to play Uno with a few refreshments.

It is a new hotel and a bit quirky in the decor and in an amazing position a short stroll from the castle the royal mile and restaurants… the staff also were amazing so helpful we had a 5.30am leave and they asked the night before if we would like a coffee to take in the taxi … we did and it was waiting for us

The room is stylish, beautiful and got so much space, everything is nice and we felt so cozy for the whole stay! Staff are really helpful and friendly, their online check in service definitely saved some time for us as it was quite late when we arrived. they also offer free glass of Champaign, made us feel so warm.

TO start the staff was ALL amazing! They were so kind and helpful, it was incredible. One of the best experiences I have had at a hotel. The room was beautiful with the most incredible mini bar I have ever seen. We partook in quite a bit of that. The bed was super comfortable. The toiletries were top notch and they even had a robe, slippers, hair dryer & straightener!! I was in heaven. The design is stunning with a ton of beautiful and cool funky art. The breakfast was mouth watering. Even if not staying there you should totally eat there. My husband said it was the best chicken and waffles he has ever had. It was the perfect stay I wish we had planned a longer stay here. Next time we are back in Edinburgh we will 100% stay here!

FAQs about hotels in Edinburgh

A Feast for the Senses

A city of heritage, heart and of course Hogmanay, Scotland’s capital is vibrant and edgy. Whether or not you come for one of its many festivals, Edinburgh is quite simply a feast for the senses.

The wealth of Edinburgh sights ranges from Holyrood Palace to the Botanical Gardens, Princes Street to the Royal Mile. Overseeing them all is majestic Edinburgh Castle. Be there at sunset on a clear day to see the city below bathed in a warm, orange glow. Simply stunning.

Wandering the streets, the smell of fish and chips wafts by, with the unique twist of salt ‘n’ sauce – a must-try variation on this favourite dish. Follow it up with a smooth whisky and you’ll start to feel like a local.

For a taste of Scottish culture, a kilt-wearing busker often plays the bagpipes on Waverley Bridge, while traditional folk music can be heard in some Old Town pubs. Complete your stay with a rugby match at Murrayfield or a round at one of the city’s 14 golf clubs, and you’ll have the true Edinburgh experience.

Whether you are looking for hotels near Edinburgh Airport or accommodations in the city center, Booking.com has a great range to choose from.

Lots to visit. Lovely scenery and architecture. Lots of walking & hilly terrain, so plan your days. Tram system very good. Online ticket purchase a bit cheaper. Christmas market lovely and very scenic but too expensive to buy anything in. Good variety of shops but not cheap.

An amazing ‘home from home’ - a mini London with all the wonderful facilities, packed into a manageable space. Everyone should go there at least once - but once you have been - you’ll want to go again. It has a different appeal in different seasons so good excuse to keep visiting! Tip: Mary King Close is an amazing tour.

I loved Edinburgh.

I loved Edinburgh. We went for the Christmas markets and it was amazing. It didn’t cost us much to get there but in Edinburgh it was like London prices to keep that in mind. However I am obsessed with the city, it’s stunning. I think there is so much too do!! We loved the jazz bar, walking around old town and wondering around the national gallery. Also Harry Potter fans are very welcome there as lots to see for them. Enjoyed lunch at the elephants cafe (where JK Rowling wrote HP). We walked around everywhere in the city but beware of the hills they are a lot. However we did get a few taxis and they are so much cheaper than London. Also bus from the airport to centre was so easy. We also did the Edinburgh castle fire and ice show and it was amazing would really recommend

love Edinburgh!

love Edinburgh! the buildings, the history, the friendly people, everything about it. Definitely visit again. we loved The Dome, but had to queue to get in for drinks - next year we are going to book for a lunch or afternoon tea around Xmas time - but i've been advised to book early ! the Vaults tour was amazing too, with Mercat Tours. Definitely visit Camera Obscura, especially with kids or teenagers, but the history and views are amazing without.

We enjoyed good food and drink in Edinburgh.

We enjoyed good food and drink in Edinburgh. We went at the end of November, and everywhere was so Christmassy, the gorgeous buildings laden with the most gorgeous Christmas decorations. There was a Christmas market on and Fun fair. So many beautiful buildings that just make Edinburgh special. Plenty of shops and plenty of historical places to visit. What a wonderful city. The Dome was everything and more. We visited Victoria road and terrace. Trams make getting about even easier. We did stay at No 11 Boutique hotel, which was an ideal location for shopping within walking distance. Also close to the Edinburgh Playhouse.

The hotel is located in a quiet area but with plenty of pubs and restaurants. It is conveniently near a station on Edinburgh's wonderful cross city tram line. Access from the airport and into the city centre was cheap and easy. Leith has a lot of attractions for visitors like Edinburgh. I liked the option to not have the room serviced every day of our stay - in exchange for free drinks at the bar as an acknowledgement! The hotel wifi was fast and free. The hotel is housed in an interesting historic building.

Great location near to Edinburgh airport, and easy connection to the city centre via bus or taxi. Great room price compared to more central Edinburgh hotels. Staff were very friendly. Rooms were comfortable and in good condition - I expected worse considering they were just rooms above a Toby Carvery, the powerful shower especially was a nice touch, as was the clothes hanging space. Breakfast also was adequate enough, so we were happy all around.
