I was really surprised by the spacious room for our group of four friends. Parking was possible either just a few steps from the entrance to the hotel (free of charge only between 6 PM - 8 AM) or on a free parking yard some 150m from the hotel. I also enjoyed the dinner served directly at the hotel which was a bit of a surprise for such a small Scottish town of Lockerbie and available at a quite favourable price.

A warm welcome to start with. The room was beautiful. The shower was very good. We ordered pizza in and we could use the breakfast room to have our diner. The plates were set for us. That was very lovely. We had a good night sleep. The breakfast was also very good. We had a very nice conversation with the owners which made us feel very welcome.

We joined the local church for their Easter Sunday service and had a great welcome - they were even offering breakfast snacks and hot drinks! The area was safe and quiet. We didn't use any of the local eateries though.

The Lockerbie entry is accompanied by a picture of Caerlaverock castle. You need to be aware that this castle is about an hour's drive away. There are less-well-preserved ruins of castles much closer to Lockerbie, a small market town with a few shops, a couple of pubs, several takeaways, and a supermarket.

We did a stopover on way to north Scotland.

We did a stopover on way to north Scotland. Beautiful quaint town. Stayed at the peaceful Mansefield and did a 2 min walk into town centre. Had delicious diner at Just Be. Visited the Garden of Remembrance, which was very sobering and just a reminder of how this beautiful peaceful town was rocked by an awful tragedy that echoed the worst of humanity. A town that will always be remembered for the Pan Am bomb, but that actually is so much more than that. Easy links by train. Too short a stopover as quite a lot to do in the area

As I was only there for work, it would be difficult to comment too much on the town itself as I didn't get a chance to see too much of it, although the areas I did see were lovely. However it appears a good base for exploring the South West of Scotland, with good rail and motorway links

I arrived late afternoon and went for a run.

I arrived late afternoon and went for a run. Didn't have a lot of time to explore. Will be back. The people I met were friendly and kind. This day we saved a dog 🐕 from being run down. He had run away or been abandoned and was running harem scare. So myself and the town dwellers all came together to help the dog. Well done this community spirit!

Literally everything, from the wonderful location surrounded by fields and birds, to the superb accommodation, brand new, beautifully designed . Then a superb breakfast. Also only few minutes drive to the Lockerbie centre . They could have charged twice as much and would still have been worth it. And very nice host too. One of the very best places /value for money that I have ever stayed in anywhere in the world I have travelled.

The hotel was easy to find and just what we needed after a fairly long drive. The staff were lovely and we are happy to pass on details to friends of ours who also like to break their journey. Lovely comfortable and warm room. A few stairs to climb. Bar was well stocked and the meals were wholesome. Picked Lockerbie as we were viewing the memorial and remembrance garden.
