We had the best time. The hotel is ideally placed for us who wanted to do many activities in the area. Close to Poros village and many beaches. You will need a car though. The room was so spacious and beautiful. We had two balconies one facing the see with a perfect view. They have a nice pool area. The room is perfectly clean and bed is very confortable. It’s a family run hotel and Anastazia and Andreas are very nice and helping. Definitely the place to stay if you chose Poros

Everything was great at Hotel Oceanis, exceeding our expectations: - very kind, polite and helpfull staff and owners, did their best to accommodate our requests; - rent a car service available at the hotel (we received the car in the same they we asked for a car and we also obtained an upgrade for 6 persons when we needed); - free transfer with a minibus from the hotel to the center; - panoramic view from our room and from the terrace where we had breakfast; - breakfast options and specific Greek food and sweets; - clean rooms and daily cleaning; - free parking space; - AC, mini fridge, safety deposit box and TV in each room

Comfortable apartment on the ground floor of a private house, located a little up the hill. The surroundings are very peaceful and green, privacy is guaranteed. A beautiful view of the sea from the shaded terrace, the possibility of parking very close to the entrance. The apartment is very well equipped, the furniture is beautiful and of high quality. On the comfortable bed I had the best sleep of my Kefalonia holiday.

We were very pleased with our hotel choice. Niko is an extremely good host. We had everything we needed at home and more. He even put orange plum and eggs in the refrigerator and gave us orange jam as a gift when we were leaving. The balcony had a great sea view and we enjoyed our drinks at the sunset. Big blue is a magnificent house that has been thought through down to the scent of lavender in the closet. If we come again, I wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else.

Paradise Pool Bar is exceptional.

Paradise Pool Bar is exceptional. The food and the atmosphere are a credit to the team! Argo is a great place to eat and drink, any time of the day. Simple food very well done, with excellent attention to detail and service. Martha's Cafe is a traditional meeting spot that gives you a true sense of Greek life. Octopus Meze Bar is a great place to base yourself for a day at the beach with good food and service. Rent a car at Odysseus Palace and explore a little further!

A busy little port with yachts of all sizes coming and going...

A busy little port with yachts of all sizes coming and going as well as a twice daily ferry. Lots of beaches in the town with those south of Póros the most quiet. Ample cafes and several shops in the town.

Good places to eat at reasonable costs.

Good places to eat at reasonable costs. Range available a cheeky takeaway gyros to a grilled fish heaven. Good range of bakery, butchers and supermarket. Swimming is easy and safe in the bay. Be prepared for driving as the town is a bit out of the way if you want to explore the island. Essential to have a hire car. We stayed a full week next time 3 days is enough

A scruffy run down port area.

A scruffy run down port area. Lots of closed nearly derelict buildings. No wonder the taverna owners don’t have much enthusiasm as it’s a dying duck, Water looked minging so we didn’t even bother going in the sea. Beach dirty and covered in rubbish and seaweed. Remetzos bar was quirky and the only restaurant worth going to Otzibars.

Its a beautiful place with very nice landscape and beaches - much better then Skala a more touristic town nearby. It is also cheap enough, friendly and you can find some really good food, in particular seafood. However, it might be that early June (as it happened to us now) the water might be a bit cold and windy. However, from 7th of June the weather has improved. But that's the whims of weather...

The village is in 2 parts I suppose, the bay and the harbour...

The village is in 2 parts I suppose, the bay and the harbour. It's small and well maintained with plenty of restaurants and cafes and clings to the mountainside. It's quiet and laid back, apart from the time when the ferry arrives but that is a highlight of the day. The ferry goes to Kylini on the mainland and costs 13.95 each way for a foot passenger, but cars, bikes and large lorries use it also. There isn't much to see and do in Kylini but as I had never been to the mainland before, I just went coz it's there. It takes around 90 minutes each way. I also took a boat trip to Ithaca, stopping at Vathy and Kioni on the island along with a couple of swim stops for those who want to. The price was 55 euros and it was a full day. There are trips to Zakynthos available as well from Poros. The views across the Ionian Sea are amazing and when it's clear the mainland is very visible along with all the other islands. There is a hiking trail starting and finishing in Poros (the island has a lot of them) but unfortunately it is partially closed. The restaurants I went to all served good food with large portions at reasonable prices. The owners and waiters were all genial and helpful. There isn't a lot to do apart from walking the bay etc so I recommend hiring a car to see further afield. I managed to get round most of the island and while the roads are definitely not motorways, they are generally well maintained with a few crazy steep hairpin type corners. Poros is a good base to travel around the island and across to Greece itself.

First of all the host Lefteris is a great guy, supportive and helpful, always there if you need him; he gave us a map of Poros, gave us instructions for the main attractions and facilities around the area. Size of the room is more than enough, super clean( cleaning is done every day), 2 balconies, with a small kitchenette to prepare meals. The location is perfect, just behind the main road, walking distance to supermarkets, bakery shop, restaurants, and the beach, all within 3 minutes walking range.

I highly recommend this one! Staff where super super helpful all along our stay in kefalonia! Especially Ms. Matina - thank you so much for helping us planning our stay & Mr. Takis for helping us with our luggage! The room and the rest of the hotel where very clean, ALWAYS. They also provided us with beach equipment, such as umbrella etc. They also gave us a local souvenir to take back home with us!
