It's in an excellent location right on the river in the quiet spot of bukit lawang but still only a short walk from where all the action is and if you don't wish to walk there is a taxi service very close by which will get you into town. The rooms are very nice and the food choices are good and there is soft drinks and beers available for those that wish. Also the garden area is very beautiful with a lot of wildflowers and butterflies flying around so it's a pleasure even just to sit on your balcony and enjoy the view

Very nice bungalows near the river where you can swimm! They organised a super 4 days Jungle Trek for our family with a really fantastic guide (Ponidi). He was just super nice with our kids, and very careful during the trek.

the location is incredible - gorgeous walks and opportunities to spot monkeys, lizards, bright butterflies - overlooking the river and jungle and with a private waterfall on the land. the staff were incredible and went out their way to help us, and were there to answer any question. We came with two year old twins who can be a handful and they made us feel extremely welcome, and helped lug and entertain the boys on the trek into the jungle to see the orangutans (we saw 4!)

Our stay at Hotel Orangutan and visit to Bukit Lawang was the highlight of our trip and one of my favorite places I have ever visited.  First, our trekking guides Amin and Holland were exceptional and our experience seeing the orangutans was magical.   Abdoullah, our driver was also excellent.  Easy to communicate with, an excellent driver, and a very pleasant, interesting man.   Staff at the Hotel Orangutan, including Vyca, were very pleasant, good fun, and helpful.  Everything was very well organized.   Anastasia, who helped organize our trip was excellent- considering our flights, dates and plans changed 3 times!  Bukit Lawang is so charming.  We had great food, many monkeys, and music in resturants every night.  The people were so nice.  I cannot recommend a trip to Bukit Lawang and Hotel Orangutan enough.
