Absolutely outstanding experience from start to finish. I think it is the best hotel experience I've ever had. Stunning location, exceptional hospitality and warmth and delicious food. There was a real opportunity to embrace using and hearing the Irish language also as an Irish language course was taking place at the hotel at the same time as my stay. The other guests were also really convivial.

Gougane Barra is an exceptional place for the location of course but the hotel is also gorgeous, the personal and the owner are lovely and very warm and they make you feel at home straight away. The restaurant was delicious, everything was thought to details, cooked to perfection and so creative! We had our engagement there and we are delighted with the time we spent there. Really amazing!

We had a wonderful time staying in Gougane barra. The hotel is located in a magical place and is charming. Every member of the staff we met was helpful and pleasant. The room had a superb view of the lake and it was romantic. We had also dinner in the restaurant. Nice only 3 course menu no A la Carte choices as far as i know or we were not informed. Breakfast ok

The setting of this hotel is idyllic, right on the lake next to historic St Finbarr’s oratory on a little promontory. Surrounded by forests and mountains. The owners and staff are warm and friendly and the food is outstanding! Would love to return.

Fabulous location, lovely food and wonderful staff. Nice vibe throughout whole hotel between guests and staff. Could not have been nicer or more helpful. Lovely walks from hotel and views to die for.
