We have forgotten to lock the key for the bungalow in the safe and took with us to Reykjavik. We sent it via Airmail, so it arrived the same day in Akureyri. The people have been very nice and there was no anger in any way. They had to pick up the key in Akureyri. They told us not to mind for our mistake. This is exeptional. Many thanks to the people from Brimnes Cabins. We'll be back.

We went to Dalvík so we could ride horses at the Tvistur horse farm. Then we went north to the Herring Era Museum. I would highly recommend both. It was nice traveling in the north of Iceland because there were so few tourist. The snow capped mountains in the area were hugged by mist making for some very pretty photos.

Dalvik is a great alternative to Husavik for whale watching.

Dalvik is a great alternative to Husavik for whale watching. Fewer boats, crews attentive to both passengers and whales, and of course, the whales are there! So forget the cod smell that the fish processing company wafts through the streets. It's an authentic town with people happy to welcome you.

I booked last minute and I've got all the info right away, self check-in was super easy. The cottage was perfect, big and super cozy inside with very comfortable beds. The view from the terrace was top notch. The place was very clean inside/out and the host was welcoming and quick to answer to my message. The hot tub on the patio was the perfect touch for a bit of relax after a long and cold day. Probably the best accommodation I've been in Iceland, value for money too. I'll definitely be back!!

Not great. The information on Booking.com is misleading. The hotel to all extents and purposes was closed thus no bar or restaurant. My accommodation was in a hostel annex with shared bathroom and poorly equipped kitchen and my room could not be locked from the outside. Thankfully I only stayed one night.

We stayed for four night and really enjoyed our time at Dalvik and the comfortable Cabin. We used the jacuzzi and saw northern lights from there. The host (Bjarni) is a very welcoming person and told us al kinds of interesting things about Dalvik and surroundings.

Friendly welcome. All staff were very pleasant and helpful. The cost of the stay was extremely reasonable for Iceland. Good location for whale watching trips, and close enough to places like Husavik, Akureyri and Godafoss
