GermanyOur welcome here was the nicest and warmest of the whole trip. The rooms are very cozy and we hat what we needed. The little breakfast was also very thoughtful and tasty. We were able to see and pet the horses and dogs, which was a delight for uns.

There was some confusion at the hotel about our two cabins resulting in one cabin being given away to another late booking by mistake. The staff were super helpful and apologetic, found us another room and only charged for one cabin. This place was simple, clean and charming. Thank you!

There wasn't a single thing wrong. From the place, to the location, the host, avaliable conveniences while being isolated to relax.
The pool outside brings everything to an 11. Enjoying the warmth with the cold outside while gazing at the stars, just what the doctor ordered.

Bad experience with the Bakkaflöt Guesthouse.
We updated our arrival time, but the hotel did not give a reply. During check in, we showed our reservation letter to a elder staff, but she said no:( and was not friendly. They did also not inform us gate will be closed and the room key can't open the gate!. Because of puncture, we came back to the hotel around 1 o'clock in the morning and the gate was closed. We have to call the staff. Fortunately, that elder staff came to open the gate, but she seemed unhappy and blamed us when we check out.

It’s perfect for a family trip around Iceland.
It’s perfect for a family trip around Iceland. We stay here for five nights. While we were here we rested from our trip around the South. After a resting day we visited the North attractions such as Dettiffos, Godaffos, Myvatn, Grettislaug, and we even managed to visit Grimsey.

Host was friendly, cottage was amazing! The natural hot tub was 104ºF (40ºc) constantly and they provide shoes and robes to wear to walk out to the hot tub. Although there were other guests in other cottages, we had the hot tub all to ourselves (but it's big, could seat a dozen adults!) House construction was sturdy (not cheap like some of the cottages we've stayed in here in Iceland); furniture also very sturdy and comfy. Wifi worked great.

This was probably my favorite of all the places we stayed at during our Iceland trip! The cottage is so cute and well equipped and the location is lovely. Dísa and her family were wonderful hosts and gave us great recommendations for where to go, and following her advice I booked a riding tour with Hestasport, which was really great. The horses and sheep on the farm are really cute and the dogs are so sweet!

The stay at our hosts' house was wonderful, the best we had during our week-long trip around Iceland. Their house was large, clean, warm and perfectly decorated. There was a breathtaking view from the windows. We also had a hot tub to use, from which we admired the Northern Lights. The hosts made sure our stay was enjoyable 🤍 We are delighted and highly recommend staying at Freyja's and Palli's house.

We loved our stay at Sauerbær Apt, even for just 1 night. We felt homey right away. Friendly welcoming. Very big apt., comfortable beds, good shower, everything clean. Its the only apt, so it was very quiet. Lovely dog. Beautiful waterfall Reykjafall and Fosslaug (hot spring) 25 min walk or 4 min by car (with 10 min walk). We were almost alone there. Would have loved to stay longer!

We loved our stay here! Our room was so cute and had a lot of character (not just a boring bland hotel room). The hosts were so sweet. We had no issues with noises, even though all rooms were booked.
