If you are looking for a traditional Italian house this is a great place. Very clean, comfortable bed, good shower, excellent breakfast with home made jam, fresh bread, croissant, prosciuto and cheese and more. Both the room and breakfast room have the best views of the pretty Castelbuono. Parking is free and on their drive. Teresa and Peppe are the most kind and helpful hosts.

Everything was perfect — starting with the beautiful view from the terrace, the comfort of the apartment, and the incredible host! A big thank you to the host — people like this truly make Sicily special. We received so much helpful information about the local area, including restaurants, attractions, and places to visit. The breakfast was perfect, and since we were traveling with two children, we really appreciated that everyone’s needs were taken care of. It was incredibly sad to leave — it truly felt like home. Lovely little town, with loads of places to eat and drink. Close to Cefalu, but far away enough to not attract many tourists. It felt like a very authentic experience, where the waiters at the restaurant knew everyone who came in to eat, and the guests seemed to be old friends. Juts lovely atmosphere overall.

As a small town Castelbuono is very typical of a Sicilian...

As a small town Castelbuono is very typical of a Sicilian town. Lots of narrow winding roads, steep cobblestone narrow roads. Food is excellent and prices are reasonable. The only criticism we have is that people are allowed to smoke in restaurants that are open air but in reality canopied so you get free second hand smoke!

The roads in Sicily are not good at the best of times and are currently overrun with tourists, so driving to any of the nearby walks was fairly off putting, though doable. The town itself is quite interesting and friendly with a variety of eating places with local specialities, as well as shops for buying fresh fruit, vegetables and cheese. We ate very well and enjoyed the mountain walks we did in the nearby parco del natura and especially the views, birds and wildflowers. Parking on the edge of town and then walking is far preferable to navigating the busy, narrow streets.

Had lunch at Pizzeria San Paolo a couple times. Very good. Had dinner at Vecchio Palmento twice. Very good. Being a photographer, I loved just walking around town and going inside the many churches. Explored the castle. Get up early and get ahead of the donkey's picking up trash in the historic area. I would definitely return to explore more. Host was excellent and very helpful. Map of town really helped.

Everything about this converted convent is delightful with ine notable exception: the road leading up to it from Castelbuono is quite possibly the worst I have ever encountered anywhere in Italy. Absolutely shocking. Unless you crawl up at a snail’s pace you risk causing severe damage to your car’s suspension. I suggest a little investment in road repairs would prove money well spent.

Salvatore and Maximo were beyond great as hosts. They acted as interlocutor with our competent taxi driver. Both were extremely attentive and kind. I heartily endorse this hotel. It provided first class service ten times as good as hotels considered to be the best of Italy!

We loved the quiet location of Villa Levante & the fact we were staying in a ‘castle - like ‘ property . It was only a short walk into Castelbuono & a 20 minute drive to Cefalù . The view from the swimming pool , looking out over the valley was amazing .
