Everything was clean as guests have to leave their shoes in lockers beside the entrance of the hotel. There is an onsen at the top level and even free ice cream for guests. Laundry wash is heavy duty and frer and the dryer only cost ¥300. Staff was always polite and greeted us. It is fairly near to the Matsumoto train station and bus terminal. This made it convenient for us to travel around.

Takai the owner was sooooo helpful, it made all the difference to my stay in Matsumoto. I loved the book he made describing the different restaurants and what their specialities were. So much love and hard work have gone into making this place special. Takai was patient and answered all of my questions and went out of his way to help me. I am very grateful for his kindness and consideration. Lots of eating and drinking places are only a few minutes away as is the castle. It's also only about 15 minutes walk from the station so even with a suitcase I could walk here.

The offer of toiletries to take to the onsen, bikes to cycle round the city and free washing facilities made it such an easy place to stay without hidden extra costs. The kitchen was well kitted out. Staff and other travellers very friendly.

What a great surprise. Excellent location, few minutes walk from both bus n train station. We could store all our luggage before check in with ease n come back later. Bedrooms were surprisingly big for a Japanese budget hotel. Enough space even for our snowboard bags. Note that im talking about Japanese standards. Double bed was small but enough for me n my husband ( we are not super big n tall). Everything worked fine and they also have free bikes for rental which is very convenient.
