The location was great. It was by a main road and about 2 minutes walk to Shimizu Station, passing by a mall with a number of local restaurants. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom were bigger than we expected. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash bottles were provided in the bathroom, along with toothbrushes. Fresh towels and pajamas were placed outside our room door daily, even if we didn't ask for the room to be made up. Coupons for free water, tea or beer (choose one only) were also given daily along with the towels and pajamas. You exchange these coupons for your preferred drink at the front desk. There was a pants press, microwave, disposable cutlery, toothbrushes and razors in every floor, just outside the elevator. There were designated smoking rooms. Every 3-10PM was happy hour in the lobby and various drinks are available for free consumption by the guests, including local sake varieties, wine, tea, coffee or soda water.

Hotel is just besides Shizuoka Station. It was so convenient. Room are clean and bright. Special mention to reception staff: Sugieda-san. I used Family Mart (just outside the hotel) to help deliver my luggage bag to the next destination. I had some difficulties in filling out the form and walk to and fro the hotel to ask for information. After a while, Sugieda-san pop over to Family Mart to check out on me to make sure that my bag and form was properly handled. (For your information, the hotel do not have Yamato service for bag delivery(

My room was spacious and very comfortable, making for a great stay. I also appreciated the Business Hotel perks, such as complimentary coffee and beverages. The hotel is just a short bus ride from Shizuoka Station, and free onsite parking is available—perfect if you're planning to rent a car (which I highly recommend to fully explore the area). The staff were exceptionally friendly and always helpful whenever I had questions.

Shizuoka is a hidden gem.

Shizuoka is a hidden gem. You can stay here and get to many sightseeing destinations by rail (day trips) and come back to the relaxation of more laidback location. Locals are very pleasant and friendly, not so jaded by the over tourism of Kyoto and Osaka. We speak very limited Japanese, but were welcomed and managed in small local restaurants and Izakayas.

Shizuoka's shinkanesen train station is packed full of interesting shops and restaurants. We absolutely loved browsing as we waited for our train. Our visit in Shizuoka was much too short. I would have like to walk through the park (Sumpu) Walk through the city and explore more of the department stores. We got to see a local tea farm but it would have been great to visit more. We tried Sushiro which was really fun and delicious and better than most of the sushi restaurants in Montreal.

For those whose hobby is into plastic modelling, the city of Shizuoka is considered the model city of Japan. There is the annual Shizuoka hobby show that is held in the second week of May and is one of the biggest model show exhibitions in the world so hobbyist will not be disappointment.

We hated it. We felt unsafe, boxed in.

We hated it. We felt unsafe, boxed in. My friend is fluent in Japanese but even she was having trouble making the staff understand even small things. It’s a love hotel. Very disturbing. Sextoy magasine, prostitute magasine, locked doors that only open when you call and ask the staff to open the doors. Staff that didn’t understand. Making me pay for two rooms when giving us just one room.

Shizuoka city has the pleasant atmosphere of a sizable city with a country feel. I love Shizuoka and of course, that big mountain is always visible in the near vicinity when it's not hanging with its cloudy mates.

From a touristic perspective Shizuoka was just perfect for travelers who look for a more relaxing location. It was not full of tourists like you would expect seeing in Tokyo. But this also means that not everything is written or explained in english. Shizuoka is a perfect stay location when you want to visit locations like Nagoya, Hamamatsu, Mishima or similiar (so places you would usually pass with a shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto)

The hotel is conveniently located about 10 minutes from Shizuoka Station, with plenty of great restaurants nearby. The staff were very friendly, and there were bilingual English- and Japanese-speaking team members at the reception, which was very helpful. My room was clean and quiet, providing a comfortable stay. I especially enjoyed the breakfast prepared by the Japanese ladies—it reminded me of the traditional homemade meals my mother used to make. Overall, a warm and pleasant experience. I would happily stay here again.

I don't even know how many times I've stayed at this hotel, probably 10 different times already. Associa is the best location when you plan to use the Shizuoka often. Hotel is kept very well and the price is not so bad as well. There are a lot of walkable locations and that is always a plus. I will definitely stay here again in a few months.

I needed to buy a plug adapter to be able to charge my PC with a French socket. The staff indicated me where to get one; I lost my wallet while in Shizuoka. I thought it was in a bus. The staff in the hotel helped me find it, by calling for me the bus terminal and tell me where to go.

The property was clean, comfortable and in a good location being near the high street and station in Shizuoka. Not only were staff friendly and helpful but so were the residents at the hotel when we stayed. Also, I was able to see Mt Fuji from my room which was amazing!!

Room was a decent size for a Japan hotel room. The shower was very enjoyable! Breakfast was yummy (I had Japanese set menu). Very convenient location from shizuoka station.
