There are many great restaurants and things to do in the area! The hotel and room were so clean and comfortable. The futuristic feel to the hotel definitely made it feel like it should be a ☆☆☆☆☆ hotel. If this is an option on your list, just book it! You won't regret it.

Breakfast was a decent spread but mainly local fare. (Except for some sausages). For those looking for a more international offering, it might not be to your taste. There were plenty of tables/seats at the breakfast area and it was spacious. Room wise, it was very spacious as well. The rooms and towels were clean. I did not hear much noise from the other rooms but am not sure if it was due to the sound proofing or low occupancy. Hotel was about a 5 to 10 mins walk to the nearest subway station. Decent amount of food choices nearby. Came during December and floor/room heating was good and balanced.

Everything perfect!! We came just for an overnight but it was a very pleasant stay! Parking, nice modern and big room for 4 people, comfortable beds, very nice breakfast too. Many good restaurants just across the street.

Close to the train station, it was a spacious, clean room and the staff were lovely. There was netflix on the TV which is great because so many hotels force you to watch their crappy paid channels. Big thanks to Mr Max Lee at the concierge. He was so helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Bonus of having a convenience shop attached to the hotel too.

Gwangju is the 6th largest city in Korea.

Gwangju is the 6th largest city in Korea. There’s plenty to do and see, but is definitely at least a weekend trip. However, there is something for everybody — whether you’re into hiking, history, shopping, or eating. Gwangju is also pretty spread out depending on what you want to do/see so plan accordingly and make note of where things are! Make sure to go to a Kia Tigers Baseball Game when you’re there!

I stayed in Gwangju for a week primarily to do an event with...

I stayed in Gwangju for a week primarily to do an event with the world famous Koran Randonneur Cycling Club. A 600k Gwangju-Busan-Gwangju. The ride started near City Hotel which is also located near the bike paths along the river. While in Gwangju I visited the very excellent Gwangju Museum of Art and the Cemetery. Gwangju seems like a very livable city with (at least) two universities and a vibrant industrial, commercial sector.

Gwangju publicises itself as an arts and culture centre.

Gwangju publicises itself as an arts and culture centre. It has a fantastic national museum and an interesting modern art museum. A Famous K-pop star BTS J Hope) comes from there and there is a cool area with cool shops and restaurants. I would have stayed a couple more days to see some more things but my accommodation wasn't to my liking and I moved on. If you like history, culture and art you will find things to do and see in Gwangju.

A lot of green nature.

A lot of green nature. A good visit to the memorial park and baseball stadium. Friendly locals. Interesting museum like the history and folk museum and national museum. Chill vibes and easy to get around by bus, subway and affordable by taxi.

Being the cultural and economic hub of the southeastern part of Korea, Gwangju is worth visiting if you're interested in this country. Also, Gwangju is the best place in Korea that hosts and preserves historical heritages regarding the military/dictatorial government in the last century. You're strongly recommended to visit the former Jeonnam provincial office and Jeon Il Building to witness the history of brave Korean people.

I stayed for two days and I think it was suitable for my needs. Make sure to go to Sajik Park and to the observatory there, sunset up there was so beautiful! Also there's a café so you can get a take-away coffee to the observatory deck and enjoy it there (or in the café if you prefer that, there are large windows with great views too). When you go in the evening, there are light installations in the park and reflected to the tower. Make sure to know basic Korean when you go to Gwangju or have a good translator since not everyone speaks English. I speak a bit of Korean so it was okay. T-Money card works well here and it's easy to get from the airport to the city by subway. If you are BTS ARMY like me, be sure to check out J-hope art in the Penguin Village and Gwangju Kpop Street!

The hotel was easy to find and close to public transport. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a long stay of 12 nights and I did not regret booking this hotel at all. There are washing and drying facilities which made it very convenient. Our room was cleaned daily. The water in our fridge was also replenished every day. There was additional water in the main lobby that you could help yourself to.

The rooms are large and spacious. The hotel is close to the metro station (about 10 minutes walk) and City Hall. The breakfasts are Korean, but there is also toasted bread, eggs, jam and cheese, so if someone does not like Korean breakfast, they always have something to eat. The gentlemen at the reception were very helpful and we always managed to communicate in mixed Korean-English. Wi-Fi was working great.

Loved this hotel - good sized comfortable room and bed, lovely linen, good breakfast options, lovely amenities, water, coffee in room, easy parking. Easy to get to, off a narrow street.

The location is fantastic, with lots of food and shops right beside the hotel. Walking to the subway is like 5 minutes away. Water pressure and temperature are stable and constant.
