I stayed at Sinharaja Pitadeniya Hut in Lankagama during our research work in Sinharaja, and it was an excellent experience! The location is ideal—conveniently close to the main road and within easy access to both the Lankagama and Pitadeniya entrances of Sinharaja Forest Reserve. This made it very practical for our research activities. The food was another highlight. Breakfast was included in the price and featured authentic local dishes, which were both delicious and satisfying. The host was incredibly friendly and supportive, always ensuring we were comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. The accommodation itself was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, providing a comfortable environment to relax after a day of work. Overall, it’s a great place for anyone visiting the area, whether for research or leisure. Highly recommended!

The cabin is in the heart of the forest and among tea plantations. To reach the cabin you have to cross two small creeks where you can also enjoy the natural pools. The cabin is very clean with a comfortable bed, there I also an outside patio where dinner and breakfast are served. There is electricity thanks to a solar panel. Ravindra is a very kind and attentive host. He will help you with your backpacks and will bring your meals to the cabin. He also organises tour of the forest and accompany you to the forest with his tuk tuk. We asked for dinner and breakfast and both meals were very good and with large portions both prepared by Ravindra's mother. Both during the day and night you can see a lot of birds and other animals around the cabin. Definitely one of the best experiences in our trip to Sri Lanka.

This small lodge is a great base for bird and nature lovers. It is about 2km from the entrance of the world famous Singaraja Rain Forrest. You can even see the endemic famous Sri Lanka Blue Magpie in the early morning on the hotel grounds. We enjoyed the food. The owner can arrange a guide for the birding tour. We loved the tour with the guide.

Absolutely stunning location on the upper slopes of a valley in the rainforest with a wide expansive view. The most beautiful infinity pool looking over the trees with birdlife. Very kind team running the operation who are happy to help with anything. Food was great, especially in such a remote location. Incredible value for money. A short (complementary) tuk tuk ride to the entrance of Sinharaja Forest park.

If you want a 5 star resort, this is not your place! If you want a river view with birds, a friendly chef/manager and a clean, basic stay- stay here! Fan, air conditioning and a clean room with hot water. No other people were staying; this suited us as we could enjoy the view, birds and relax. The boys organised cold beer for us- ask the price, give them the $ and you have beer. Overall, a great place in a secluded spot. There might be water on the floor after a shower but this. Dies overnight. If this sounds great, go for it! The more expensive places are probably similar but we could have stayed have stayed longer. Thanks to Chef, Manager Akila. Very good spotter of birds and a friendly person with lots of local knowledge.

Amazing location with view to the family garden/tea plantation and the river, many birds and wildlife passing by (saw a few peacocks flying in front of the balcony which still surprises me!).The couple is super caring/attentive and serve amazing, diverse and plenty of food. The room is quite big with a cozy decoration and plenty of seating and a lovely balcony.

Lovely stay at Sunil's home. He was very friendly and flexible with our request. His wife cooked nice meals for us. The room has an incredible room.
