We stayed for 1 night and it was a great stay, not much around to do but that was fine for us as it was to just break up our journey.The room was clean and comfortable.The food for breakfast and dinner was lovely.The owner was so kind he sent us on our journey with some pancakes.

During our three-week stay in Sri Lanka, we enjoyed nothing more than the night we spent in this lovely cottage. The family was as warm and welcoming as Sri Lankans generally are, but what made it truly special for us was the view of the waterfall and, even more so, the incredibly delicious food prepared by the wife. Not only did she cook sensationally for us, but she also gave so much of herself that it’s impossible to put into words how deeply this stay has stayed in our memories. The husband acted as our tour guide to the natural pools and explained so much to us. This hospitality, the location, and everything else truly deserve a 10/10. Thank you for everything!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Ella Sobaway, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. From the moment we arrived, the warm and professional staff made us feel welcome and well taken care of. Check-in was seamless, and our room was immaculate, beautifully decorated, and equipped with all the amenities we could need. The comfort of the bed ensured a restful night’s sleep, and the stunning view from our window was an added bonus. The location was perfectly set to have a beautiful mountain view and provided a peaceful retreat from the city’s hustle and bustle. Above all, the outstanding service truly set this place apart. Every staff member we encountered went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and memorable. Their attention to detail and genuine hospitality made all the difference. I highly recommend Ella Sobaway to anyone looking for a luxurious and comfortable stay in Ella. We will definitely be returning on our next visit!

Thomasha is the best host we had on our trip. So friendly and welcoming. He contacted us beforehand to learn our arrival time so that he can be present at the house when we arrived. He showed us where to go to have lunch, and took us on his tuk tuk to the Ella Walla waterfall, which was a gem !

We really enjoyed our time at Sam's Stay. The place is new and one of the nicest we have been to in Srilanka. Sam welcomed us with fresh mango juice from his garden. The next day he showed us all the fruit trees around his place, rice fields and natural pool where you can swim. We had an amazing breakfast at his restaurant. On our wish he even prepared us wood apple juice which was delicious. For a local experience of Srilanka we highly recommend Sam's Stay.
