This was by far the best stay I’ve had in Weligama, even though it was just a short visit. The property was spotlessly clean, and the room was incredibly comfortable—everything felt well taken care of. The rooftop is definitely the highlight of the hotel, offering stunning views and a relaxing atmosphere, perfect for unwinding. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had—fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. The staff were amazing—genuinely friendly, attentive, and always ready to go the extra mile to make sure I had everything I needed. I wish I could have stayed longer. I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Weligama!

Absolutely amazing. The room was clean and spacious, very comfortable bed. We loved the pool after long trip from Colombo. Great fruit plate and tea for breakfast. Staff was very helpful. Surrounding is weird but this place is like hidden gem. Recommended!

Villa Hillcrest is perfect for travellers looking for some downtime, as it is a super relaxing place nestled in the hills outside Weligama. A couple of kilometers away from Weligama beach and with some steep lanes leading up to it, it may be a little difficult to get to and fro from the beach via tuktuk, especially at night. With that said, it's a property that you would absolutely love if you want to simply lounge in the pool, enjoy a spacious villa to yourself and eat at the property itself. The pool is amazing, with a direct view of greenery overlooking Weligama beach. The food was delicious, and the staff is super helpful. We had a great conversation with the manager, and he made us some delicious off-menu mocktails as well on request!

This is an absolute gem, it is ocean front but hidden away from any main road noise. The only ‘noise’ is the wonderful sound of the ocean. The rooms are fantastic, large and the showers are modern and excellent. The staff are incredibly helpful and kind and the owner Chameera is often there himself keeping an eye on things. Absolutely gorgeous hotel, and it’s my new favourite place to stay. Thank you all for the excellent stay!

The hotel was right to the beach, area was so nice and quiet. After spending nights in Weligama city this was a perfect escape from noisy city, but still close to everything. Owner was so kind to me and help me rent a scooter. You can surf also in coconut beach, waves was really nice there.

We were there 4 nights during off season.

We were there 4 nights during off season. There is not much to do there in July. Especially with kids. Since the sea was to rough to swim in! Lots of wind and felt a bit like a ghost town to us. Every restaurant we went to we were the only ones! I think 2 nights would have been more than enough

Fortunately the place is not in the city of Wellgama which is bery busy, crowdy and noisy city. We resigned from spending more time in the city after 1h walk trying to find a nice area like caffees/restaurants or local small shops where you can buy some hand made staff etc.

The beach is fantastic for surfing, with great waves for both beginners and pros, while also offering calm spots perfect for relaxation. The sunrises and sunsets here are truly breathtaking, making every moment by the ocean magical. The town itself is warm and welcoming, with friendly locals, great food, and a laid-back vibe. The only minor downside is the occasional plastic waste, but with more awareness and local efforts, this paradise can be even better. Mrs Babi is the most amazing host we have ever had!! She will gladly help you with anything!! We‘ve had many bad experiences with hotels in Sri Lanka and this was by far the best! Everything clean and nice! Especially it‘s a quiet oasis in noisy Weligama but still in walking distance to everything, if you don‘t mind short 5-10min walks! If not just rent a scooter next door (2000 LKR a day) from Pelli Riverine super practical! The terrace was also amazing to sit and relax on with the riverview room!

We absolutely loved Oasia Surf House. The place is stunning, with incredible design and spotless cleanliness. But what truly makes it special is the amazing team—friendly, attentive, and full of good vibes. The rooftop yoga classes, the delicious breakfast, and the relaxed atmosphere made our stay unforgettable. Without a doubt, the best hotel we stayed at during our trip to Sri Lanka. We had the best stay in Sri Lanka. First of all is so unique to stay at a hotel fully managed by the owner, Enrico and seeing his project growing. He is always making sure clients feel like home and has the highest standards for his hotel, which makes the rooms and all common areas to be comfortable, with all needed amenities, 100% clean, and with a cozy and beautiful decoration. Perfect Location right at the beachfront. Not too busy area in between Weligama downtown and Mirissa. Some very good foodplaces in walking distance. You can rent a surfboard if you want. We stayed even one Night longer than planned because of the relaxed atmosphere. They serve Sri Lankan and English Breakfast. The owner offered us a fresh fish at the evening for dinner, which was great.
