If you’re planning a trip to Morocco to see the Sahara Desert, I highly recommend staying here. It’s a hidden gem located halfway between Marrakech and the Sahara Desert. The public spaces and guest rooms are beautifully designed, with rich Moroccan characters that pay great attention to detail. I personally believe it stands out among other similar accommodations. The towels and bed linens in the guest rooms are excellent quality. The bathroom taps provide fast-running hot water, and the shower offers powerful hot and cold water. The air conditioning works excellent to keep the room warm, and it’s very quiet at night. Breakfast is delicious, and these are the basic needs and all very important to a hotel guest, aren’t they? We dined here, and both the taste and presentation of the food were fantastic. Highly recommend. Every staff member at the hotel is polite and friendly. Communications with the hotel before check-in were timely and helpful. I enjoyed my stay very much. If I have the chance to return, I will definitely choose to stay here again.

Wow, I don't even know where to begin! Our experience staying at Moha and his family was incredible. I wish we had had more time there - it was just a break point in the drive from Merzourga to Marrakesh. The best way to describe what if feels like it is being back home. We were immediately greeted by Moha's sister with a big smile and a hug. We sat down and were offered mint tea (the BEST I had in 2 weeks in Morocco) and some snacks. We talked and shared our stories with Moha, his sister and his 90 year old mum. We then got a "tour" of their beautiful property and their garden and everything they grow themselves. The room was basic but comfortable with everything we needed. The balcony was so peaceful to seat at, read, talk and enjoy the views... We opted to have dinner at the property and Moha's sister prepared the most delicious couscous dish! The breakfast was also amazing. It was a short stay but the one stay in Morocco which filled my heart. I hope to be back one day!

Host and his family are definitely the most wonderful people that I ever met. They are approaching guests with the heart on the hand. The stay was unforgettable. In the evening the hosts did make a “party” for us with darbouka, dances and singing. It was pure fire. The location to the Monkey Fingers gate is an asset - two steps and you are on the trial. We had a guide (a family member) who took care of the whole group and showed us amazing places in the mountains.

The riad is nice, with beautiful views from the room. Rooms are nice and very clean. Nice pool on the roof. Staff was nice and helpful. The reception staff was extremely nice and caring. Thank you for that! Breakfast was good, one of the best I had in Marocco - great eggs :)

I couldn't recommended this place enough We arrived around 6pm and met bob who worked there. Once settled in to our upgraded room, we went out for an absolutely stunning walk over the river past some villages (on Bob's recommendation) On returning bobs mother cooked us an absolute feast - vegetable tagine with beef and chicken. In the morning we walked up the monkey finger gorge before another filling breakfast (I think this may have been our best breakfast in Morocco)

We had a fantastic stay at Grand Canyon Lodge. What a warm welcome in this new and comfortable lodge. The Lodge is really very comfortabel, with traditional interior, a lot of space, nice roofterras overlooking the oase. All brandnew and you really feel at home. The full breakfast was excellent, also the dinner in the nice restaurant. The 9 rooms are big and comfortable and well equipped. The Wi-Fi works perfectly. We thank the staff for this pleasant stay. We can recommend this accommodation to everybody. You will be impressed.

We had a fantastic stay at Grand Canyon Lodge. What a warm welcome in this new and comfortable lodge. It's a good place to stay some days, and make hikes and/or...

It's a good place to stay some days, and make hikes and/or relax. Most people rush along in tourists busses, and miss most of what the nature has to offer here. For that reason early mornings and evenings are quite calm and nights are serene. I have no problems when it stays that way. ;) Star-watching when it's dark is great here (from the balconies and roofs).

The pool was disgusting and green.

The pool was disgusting and green. The place was in construction and looked really bad. The seats outside on the terasse were dirty, the staff didnt bother wiping the dirt off. Airconditioning in the room was broken, a bird layed its nest in it. For breakfast we got some fake orange juice that tasted like medicine. Apart from this the only person who worked there was helpful and nice. It’s within walking distance of the «monkey fingers». For 20-30€ more you get a way better hotel 6km up the road. Worth it if you want a clean pool and AC in your room. Would not recommend.
