We spent one night in CC which is very close to Coba Maya temples. It is a special building with specially designed rooms, some with pools, all decorated very nicely, a beautiful restaurant and a spa which offers massages. The building overlooks a lake and it very quite at night. We started with rum tasting, followed by chocolate tasting and the we got introduced to the variety of essences, which we could also test on ourselves. Very nice cocktails, some unusual but great ones. Dinner was delicious, the best mole we ever had and a nice mexican white wine. The home made chili oil and the icecream have to be mentioned. Everything at Breakfast was very good, don’t miss out on the granola and different honeys. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The perfum we took away will make us remember the special place for some time.

Absolutely superb place, with every detail of construction and facilities thought out very carefully. Swimming pool was a delight, quiet location in the village, parking, amazing breakfast, huge room, great shower, WiFi... I could go on and on. The manager, Christian, was absolutely amazing and we had lengthy chats. He was very helpful and informative. Located ten minutes walk from Coba ruins and just a hundred metres from the main road to the cenotes. Booked for one night and ended up staying for two after some car trouble, but we were sad to leave even after overstaying!

The patrons Antonio and Auri where amazing and so very kind. She cooked us a homemade meal with the best mole we have ever eaten and he told us all about Mayan culture and history. In the evening we listened to stories about life here in Coba. The pod we slept in was so cute and cosy, we really liked it. The surroundings where beautiful and so still and peaceful. The next morning a home cooked breakfast and a smoke and cacao ceremony which was impressive and quite fun. The chocolate and honey was so good!! Without our hosts it would have been nice but they made it extra special and spectacular. Thank you so much. Little shout out to Uba y Lola.

Great place to stay, well located on the main road leading to Tulum (and quite close to Tulum and Coba - by car). The property is really nice and well looked after, rooms are very spacious, and the staff is friendly. Excellent value.

Cenote Atkan-Baj was the absolute highlight of our Mexico trip close by. Coba ruins on bicycle are a nice way of exploring and while you can interact a little bit with them as a generalisation you are no longer able to climb them. They are devoid of souvenir sellers so I personally enjoyed them more than Chichen-Itza. Lowlight: Highway 109 is not well maintained and we lost a tyre and wheel in one of the craters of potholes - drive slow and case fully if you’re driving

Ruins are amazing, spread out and shaded under trees.

Ruins are amazing, spread out and shaded under trees. You can bike ride and enjoy the breeze. Lots of opportunities for pictures. No breakfast or tea/coffee place close by. Better to tour ruins if you have tour guide. We saw both coba and tulum but our favorite was coba. We ate at local outdoor restaurant within 5 min of our hotel on first night. Hotel we stayed at coba Kaab closes their kitchen by 6 pm and breakfast not till 7:30. Most places in Mexico open later in the mornings. Small stores where you can buy packaged food like cookies, ramen noodles, and fresh fruit. Safe area to walk around close to hotel. Better if you can speak some Spanish with locals. They are very nice. No nightlights so be back at hotel before sun sets. Random dogs in street.. but not rabid or dangerous.. just hungry.

The coba pyramid is the main attraction. there's a small town with a few restaurants and convenience stores. We enjoyed touring Coba, and we loved the Cenotes nearby. The area is very pretty and natural. We took several car trips and enjoyed some peace and tranquility away from the tourist areas. it's not that far from Tulum so we took a few day trips to the beach.

Coba is a quiet peaceful town without the daily hustle and bustle that you find in nearby Tulum. It allows you access to Tulum (45 minutes away), Chichen Itza and Valladolid. You can visit 3 underground cenotes, a ten minute taxi ride away, which are quite different from surface cenotes in many other areas. You can also visit a small Mayan ecological, cultural presevation and education site located in a settlement of four families very near two of the cenotes. It is low key yet very informative. A small meal expertly prepared is available as well as both medicinal and nutritional preparations of honey. It is extraordinary.

This site is really not worth the detour; everything is outdated and looks abandoned. We had dinner in our room: no restaurants open in the middle of the countryside. However, the lake is beautiful with cute crocodiles.

There's really not much to do in Coba other than walking along the lake, but especially the archaeological site! That's a must; definitely take a guide! It takes about 2.5 hours; but the Coqui Coqui accommodation was especially enjoyable; tranquility; delicious food (vegetarian); owner Matthias is super friendly, as are all the staff.

Super cute, comfortable and nice hotel by the lake. Looked brand new. It was possible to rent a bicycle to cycle to cenote Choo-ha 7km away along the village road in the underground cave in middle of the jungle. Lovely and clean pool for swimming. Breakfast could be ordered additionally and was very helpful before the exploration of Coba pyramids. I'd recommend going there by 8am to be able to walk around alone in the jungle before the crowds arrive. Coba has real village feel with dogs, goats and roosters singing for you outside :)

We like the position of the hotel, close to the pyramids in Coba and at the same time at the outskirts of the village in a tranquile place almost in the jungle. We also like the owners, Gill and Poncho, we felt very welcome by them, family-like feeling. We also enjoyed the delisious espresso. You can find the best coffee in their place. We also enjoyed the shared kitchen for meetup and talks.
