We only stayed one night at Spring Hill Cottages, but it’s been a real highlight of our trip so far and the best place we’ve stayed in Borneo. The setting is absolutely beautiful, with lush tropical gardens, wooden chalets on stilts and a stunning view of the mountains. We’re from Australia and didn’t know Tawau at all, but the owner went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They picked us up from the Tawau bus station after our bus journey from Sukau, then drove us into town for dinner, stopped at a supermarket so we could grab suppliesand even collected us again afterwards... it was incredibly generous and very much appreciated. This place is perfect for travellers looking for a peaceful, resort-like escape and a chance to rest and recharge during their Borneo adventures.

Everything! Hotel is very clean, room spacious and the bed very comfortable! Good location with many food possibilities around the corner. Staff and the hostess are so friendly and helpful. We forgot one short pant at hotel, and it was kept well for us until we checked in again 2 days later! Many thanks! it was pleasant stay of two nights totally for us. 😊

Very clean and comfortable. It was probably our best accommodation in Borneo when it comes to the quality of the rooms, and the personnel was very nice and attentive. It’s a bit far from the city centre but still located in a bustling commercial zone where you can find plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops.
