Stunning setting, little wooden cottages dotted among a semi-tropical paradise garden. Very private cottages, beautifully made with veranda and very peaceful. The owners were really friendly and welcoming. There was also a lovely communal room. Breakfast was served each day in our room on a tray, it was just perfect, including the most delicious home-made muesli. The location was perfect, walking distance to the beach and restaurants. The whole atmosphere of The Church accommodation and the village was exactly what we had wished for, in fact even better!

A truly magical stay at Hahei Cottage! The place is nestled in the heart of an extraordinary garden, a charming little independent house, perfectly equipped with everything you need to feel at home. The decor, thoughtfully designed with great taste and attention to detail, creates a warm and soothing atmosphere. Everything was comfortable from start to finish. We had the joy of waking up each morning to the song of the birds, a real delight. CJ and Jude were wonderful, welcoming, and attentive. A huge thank you for this unforgettable stay! I recommend it without the slightest hesitation.

The property was clean and spacious. The beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms are very clean. Heating was adequate as we arrived at the start of winter. It's easy to retrieve the keys to open the gate and door of the property. Do note that you'll need to climb the stairs entrance is on the second floor.

Hahei is beautiful.

Hahei is beautiful. Hahei beach is so beautiful as is Hot Water Beach. If I could I would return to Hahei time and time again. The little town of Hahei has what you need, a small general store, liquor store and restaurants. If you need a big grocery shop, you need to go in Whitianga which is a long drive around (45 minutes to an hour) or one can go by ferry at Cooks Bay and walk into town for a bigger shop, but be sure to have a trolley bag to carry your groceries. I would say that is the only disadvantage to Hahei,

Hahei is a cute little place, ideal for a 2 night stay.

Hahei is a cute little place, ideal for a 2 night stay. Hahei has a beautiful beach and you are also very close to Cathedral Cove and Hot Water beach so it’s a great location. Both these spots are a must when you are visiting Hahei. We walked to Cathedral Cove from our apartment. It took us about 40 min and is a pretty steep incline for the first half of the walk but worth it for the views. We took the water taxi back from the cove to Hahei which was a quick but very fun trip. Hot Water beach is a unique experience. Take your shovel and be sure to check when low tide is before you make the trip over there. The Pour House in Hahei is a great spot to sit and have a drink outside. Their pizzas and fish & chips are also great. There are several other spots for breakfast and coffee too that are also great.

Hahei is central for visiting other beaches nearby such as...

Hahei is central for visiting other beaches nearby such as Cathedral Cove, currently accessible only by boat or kayak. We took the boat/water taxi and had a great trip - bonus - saw dolphins. We also visited Coromandel township via SH25 - quite a windy road but worth the trip for the views and to walk around Coromandel township.

Very picturesque beach, boat tour company very friendly/professional, limited options for easy dining (it was winter so some shops/cafe closed), but The Pour House was excellent and Beach Cafe was good value.

Our host was lovely and helpful and it was the perfect location . The negative things I posted were just meant for constructive info , when was asked what could be improved upon! Overall , despite the small room , it was Excellent ! I would stay there again ! ( please remove what appears as negative!)

Wonderful, clean, tasteful place to stay!

Wonderful, clean, tasteful place to stay! We loved our time here! Very short walk to the beach and town eateries/shops. Erin was lovely and gave helpful information about things to do. A real bonus was her darling dog Cleo. Would highly recommend staying here!

Very nice hostel right in the small and cute Hahei town, walking distance to the stunning Hahei beach, and great to start from to hike to Cathedral Cove (just 40 min). Very nice wooden room with super comfortable bed and bed linen, clean shared bathroom, spacious and welcoming shared kitchen and living room. Very convenient parking right in front of the room. Possibility to do laundry but you’ll need NDZ cash. The staff is really nice and helpful too. I loved the birds in the morning! Will stay here again next time!

This place is perfect for your stay in Hahei. The location is perfect for the Cathedral Cove walk and the owner takes care of every single detail to make your stay as good as it gets. The place is beautiful and the pictures are far from reality in a great way, the views are from the actual window and are far better from what you can see. It’s very clean and comfortable and perfect for a couple to stay here. We actually wanted to extend our stay and the place was already booked.

I liked everything about my stay at hot water beach lookout B&B. The hosts were wonderful The view was lovely. You do need transport, as it is 3km from Hahei beach and 3km from Hot Water Beach, but it's definitely worth a stay.
